In Japan, it's the day when women give candies to virtually all the men they know. 98% of the time, they give chocolate. If you have a boyfriend or a husband, you give him a bigger box of chocolates (often hand-made ) and a very small box to all the other men around you.

The big box is called "Honmei Choco = Choco for the one and only" and the small one, "Giri Choco = obligation choco".

On "White Day", which is March 14, the men have a chance to give those women candies in return. True to the name, many men give white chocolate.

Well I'm not totally sure on how it works so anyone feel free to cut me off lol.

My understanding is that on Valentines Day the girls give chocolate to the boys they like, and a month later on White Day the boys return the favor.

It's a cute idea, and it's not just about couples, everyone is able to participate. ^_^

Now that I think, Olive, I think you might be right.
There was something about the first part in Vampire Knight.

Interesting your class is doing the same thing. As far as I know, LBCC doesn't do anything special for Valentines', or I just never noticed because I don't see the point in V Day.

It'd be interesting if we had White Day here in the US, but Valentines' day is the girls' day already....

How...ironic, men give white chocolate to express their love back to girls, when in Japan, white simbolizes death and mourning.

What's you been reading? Women here wed in white kimono. White symbolizes nothing. It says "Paint me in your color."
