Thats because they're supposed to be more robot action and less 'how th US can defeat super advanced robots' *grumbles*

Cant wait for more Optimus Prime awesomeness....

Ronin4hire 02-02-2009 08:18 AM

The GI Joe movie looks better.

I watched Transformers on DVD and in the cinema. The cinema experience totally masks some of the lame scenarios. Huge robots clumsily hiding in a back yard? Men in Black who are so incompetent and unprofessional?

Dont forget the US army taking down a Decepticon. Seriously, in either Gen 1 & 2 or in some of the latest Transformers stuff when did any human come anywhere near being able to take one of them down? Though you do have a point about kame scenarios. I think the novelty of it being Transformers is what made it so big the first tme round, though it was still an awesome film.

Hmmm, time to go find certain websites again.

Firu 02-02-2009 10:24 AM

admittedly there were some pretty cheesy moments in the first one,Optimus' aweful line of "sorry,my bad" for example, but there were some pretty spectacular ones too like the whole Bumblebee vs Barricade chase/fight

Firu 02-02-2009 10:28 AM

i've updated the link now to one that actually works

kyo_9 02-02-2009 03:21 PM

this is gotta be 2009's top box office movie..

Sinestra 02-02-2009 04:01 PM

Gi Joe plus Transmormers 2 seriously my childhood has come alive again. Im pretty sure that was Devastator at the end of the teaser did you see how freakin huge he was? Serious ownage coming.

I also made out Ravage and I think i made out Sunstreak or Sidewipe i cant tell which one it was.

Devestator plus Snake Eyes vs Storm Shadow equals change of the pants.

ivi0nk3y 02-02-2009 04:05 PM

The first movie was great, whether it was cheesy or not. Its been some time since i've seen anything resembling a good old family movie which everyone could enjoy.
Also please remember before you call something "cheesy", that it isn't specifically made for you.

Firu 02-02-2009 04:08 PM

that was indeed Devastator and Ravage :)
SPOILER:
Rumours are high about a scene whe Devastator chases Sam up the side of one of the Pyramids!

HOLY SHIT then there is a reason he is called DEVASTATOR:) i just wish we could get confirmation about the Dinobots or not. I know Jetfire is in it but hes a no show so far unless anyone else saw SR71 Blackbird flying around.

CrazyLee 02-02-2009 04:15 PM

You have no idea how much I'm going to enjoy this:eek:
As far as I know the Dinobots are not appearing in this one. Which is a good thing I think. I'll see if they have a confirmed list of transformers or not.

CrazyLee 02-02-2009 04:22 PM

Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
List of characters and cast on the free site thing above. Its a good list too.

Now that was a very good scene.:) . I liked that because that was one of many parts of the movie where a human has helped an autobot take down a decepticon. You know that my parents were very hype about the first movie cuz they were fans of Transformers even before I was born. It was that serious. Did anyone else experience that type of parental craziness?

Sadly my parent is not that young lol. I guess i'm old enough though to have gone through that hype but I didn't think the first movie was going to be as good as it was. I never believe the hype about any movie, so when I watch it and its good, its a pleasant surprise.
Now there are lots of cool movies coming out though, including Terminator 4 with Christian Bale as John Connor.

the only craziness i got was my dad complaining that they got the cars wrong "Bumblebee's supposed to be a Volkswagon,Jazz should be a Porsche" etc
i told him to just shut and appreciate how good the movie is

Well that is a little crazy. At least he knows a flaw that the director didn't know. Probably. :)

Good call ivi0nk3y im really excited about Terminator 4 especially since they have already hinted that everything Sarah Connor told John and everything we have learned about Judgment day up to this point has been DEAD WRONG.

cant wait to see it.

Do you know if we are meant to forget 3 ever happened when watching 4?

I heard the story of the series takes place in an alternate reality... so does 4 take place in the universe of 3 or the series?

Well i have been taken snipets from around the web and piecing together some thoughts. Keep in mind this is just a rough idea from confirmed and unconfirmed info.

I believe all 3 paint a picture and we are not suppose to forget we are suppose to compare. Most of us know the theories behind the negative aspects of time travel. Time travel is not a good idea because its impossible to go back in time and change something even stepping on a blade of grass could cause a paradox. In movies 1 2 and 3 the resistance sent someone back in time to protect Sara and John. The problem is you can not just go traveling in time and expect not to change things therefore either altering or creating a new future or even a parallel future running along side the one you know but with differences. There are hints in the 2nd and 3rd movies that point to this. In movie 3 we learn that its impossible to stop judgment day even though in T2 they were sure they did, everything Johns mom did up till that point was to prepare him for what was coming from what she had been told. Reliable information from a future that does not exist anymore thanks to Johns dad and the Skynet.

What i think we are going to see in movie 4 is the result of all the meddling from movies 1 through 3. They made a clear statement that everything we know will be turned upside down and that Sarah and Johns dad got it wrong. They were told information from a future that had not already been altered by events in the past. Which is why if you watch the extended trailer John says something is very wrong this is not like the future his mother and the good Terminator from T2 told him about.

Thats my take on it and iv seen others around the web have some similar theories on it. In a way you are right its an alternate telling but not quite.

The wait is killing me though, those AI black bikes looked bad ass.

getting back on subject, they did try the original cars but they had two problems
a) a lot of the manufacturers wouldn't give permission and b) they found that a car chase where a Volkswagon Beetle outruns a shiney new Mustang a little hard to pull off

That is true. That would look pretty strange in the movie.

Not if it was a souped up Beetle, which is what Bumble Bee could easily be :D

Firu 02-06-2009 10:33 AM

it would've been pretty cool if Jazz was a Porsche 911 like in the original too...and if he hadn't got pulled in two lol

Salvanas 02-06-2009 10:37 AM

I never watched the first one, so I'll check that out first.

MageYuri387 02-07-2009 06:21 AM

Normally, I'm not really into action films, but I have to admit Transformers was amazing. I was never really a Transformers fan and thought the whole idea was rather idiotic. However, the trailer changed my mind. The first Transformers was excellent, it kept me laughing, and I thought the effects were pretty good.

I actually haven't seen the trailer for the second one yet. Is there even a trailer? I heard some people saw it during the Super Bowl commercials but I don't think I saw it. Trailer or not, I will definitely see the second movie.

Firu 02-07-2009 09:00 AM
