thats true
i havent seen scarface since 2004 which was the first time i saw the film MMM's knowledge of things amaze me sometimes, the best thing is he keeps it real 100 percent of the time and he wont comment unless he's sure its one of those things where if MMM says it, it must be true, when it comes to facts, not opinions, cus i have my own opinion on things myself which may differ |

lol
yea but hes been on this cite for a long time tho every time im about to comment and i see his, he usually has hard core evidence to back em too i can only feel like he being real thats one thing i can respect about anybody on the planet u can be a killer, but if you keep it 100 all the time, imma have respect for u period.. |
Thanks, Compaqmac. Though, of course this is a thread only about opinions, there are no facts to back up who is better in one movie or another (and two very different movies and very different roles by very different actors), but, like you said, I try to keep it real.

I felt like Heath transformed his character from a cartoon cut out into something infinitely more disturbing and memorable to boot.

ok as a chick I'll have to say that both performances were a breakthrough for the decade they were released in in. Yes Scarface was a brutal look at a cocaine king...(& was also the main reason why I never touched that stuff in the first place...to this day I hate the sound of sniffling noses...even my own when I'm sick), & yes it is a classic that I hope to god does not get remade but then one of the reasons why it gets so over the top is due to the influence its made on todays youth...through music, parodies, shirts, what have you.
The joker on the other hand reflects on what this society is witnessing now: dark events becoming more rampant in the world (of course i'm talking about war, drug use etc., etc., etc.). if im correct, didnt scarface kill more people than the Joker did (in their respective movies i mean)? & i know people have questioned this to the point of wanting to hurt someone, but how would this role be if Heath Ledger have lived? i hope this made sense... |

Scarface wins hands down anytime, its the numero uno ! best film in the whole wide world which to this day affect people more deeply than batman ever could wish to do. Tony Montana would cut the Jokers throught and make that B**** squeal like a little piggy !! ehhh Reload it !!! |
The only people affected deeply by Scarface are those with gangster fantasies.

to you it wins hands down the polls show differently, we arent talking about the movie, we are talking about the acting you just said old boy was terrible and its one of the best korean films ever made |

If you think about it he made a very poor gangster, it isnt about gangsterism its the idea that u do something and not give a f*** about the consequences, not be scared of the law, not be scared AT ALL of jack shit.. - thats what i think hooks us guys to scarface - i know plumbers, solicitors, builders, cleaners, electricians countless amounts of people who love this film so much and they dont have gangster fantasies honestly. |

Oldboy and Audition were one of the MOST disappointing films i ever saw in my life total shite in my opinion ! - i think Korea makes the best films in the world today but i wouldnt put oldboy anywhere in the top 10 lol |

but i watched old boy just to watch it and it was amazing i didnt find out that it was critically acclaimed not just in korea but the world until after i saw it. audition? ive only seen one movie called audition and it was a japanese horror. i cant say korea makes the best movies, because japan has good movies, we (america) put out great movies too, so does china. but old boy was a great piece of work....whats the best korean movie to u? by the way old boy isnt the best korean movie ive seen |

But regardless, that wasn't the question. |
I think they both did exceptional jobs myself in it both captured thier charcters really well. I myself loved how Ledger played the Joker. He was dead on with the original dark horse comics, Psychotic nature, no empathy what so ever, the whole laughing while he was almost killed sounded just like him. It's sad about his death because I don't think anyone else can do such a great job. I do hope I'm wrong though because I wanna see Joker with Harley Quinn. I already got ideas for actress' lol.

and i agree with everything some1 mentioned they should do a joker movie about b4 he meets batman with a younger version id like to see that, that way u can do joker, and u can use some1 else so u dont have to compare heath ledger to that person |
Ok here ya go heres my top 10 korean movies - all of these are way better than oldboy.
In no particular order; Brotherhood of war The Chaser Nowhere to hide Public enemy The City of Violence Rainbow Eyes Le grand chef A bloody aria Babo The Host. |
I don't know why you two were comparing Al Pachino and Heath Ledger (other than them being actors their completely different). But I chose Al Pachino. I was going on all the movies I've seen by both actors. Going by that I would have to say Al Pachino would win.

the question is which character was played better, not whose a better actor or whose career is better clearly al pacino has a better career than heath ledger that wasnt the question @pumpum i agree the chaser was better than oldboy to me as a whole the acting and the fact that i still vividly remember how entertained i was when i was watching the chaser |
