I will make an effort to visit many places and spend money where I can. That's one way we can help these people who have had their lives and livelihood disrupted. I wish they would accept tips, but they don't....

They don't? What do you mean? They just don't want any tip at all?

It is not customary for tips to be accepted for services rendered. There is no tipping at the restaurants, bars, taxis, etc. Some gratuities are included in the price.

It would be nice, though, to be able to hand over a 5000yen bill for a 3000yen meal and leave a good tip. I would do that. Sadly, that's not considered normal behavior.

Mhh. What happens if you do it anyway? ._. They feel insulted or does that just makes you looks like a fool? Because if it's just the second option, you don't really mind their opinion about you and help em anyway : p

It's just what I would do; change the tickets to a different date much later.

I agree. Unless you are going specifically as part of an organized relief effort, please stay clear of affected areas.

This is the worst thing wich could happen to Japan. The country is just to civilized for such an incident. Why did they not shut down 50 year old Nuclear Plants? I even heard that they had many more problems with particular the one in Fukushima?!
