Going to Japan in APRIL .. bad idea ? - 03-14-2011, 11:02 PM

Ok Folks .. Were in a bit of a rut since this earthquake/tsunami rocked Japan :

We've booked a flight to Japan in April 7 to the end of the month. Can anyone provide some thoughts on how safe it is to go down ( hoping the madness stopped ) --- or is it even not worth the trouble making the trip down. There are 11 of us going and contemplating about what to do with our trip ;

All jokes aside ; we'd really like to hear thoughts from anyone who is currently there right now we greatly appreciate your feedback!

The travel of 60Hz to the area is OK.
The area enclosed in a red line is embarrassed because of the e power shortage.
Complete restoration : for about one year.

im set to fly to tokyo in april also (27th-14th may). Heard alot of mixed opinions on this but 6 weeks is a long time and i cant help but imagine (and hope) tokyo with the power and travel issues should be alot better then. Not too worried if theres an element of danger or not - if its possible to fly i'll be going.
