Some stuff i did last year...I'm an American tattooist who spent 3 months in Japan this year, went to China 1 month, just returned to Tokyo...hoping to find a good tattoo shop to work at...lemme know what you think!

I have three tatoos.. a maple leaf with MADE IN CANADA written under it on my lower back. On my right ankle is a green geko lizzard that is so cute.and on my left ankle is the symbol of the villiage hidden in the leaves done in black orange and blue!

I've been thinking about getting an ancestral tattoo. Just one maybe on my arm that symbolizes my heritage.

The only problem is I'm a mutt!:eek:

I'm Scottish, Irish, Norwegian, French, and Cherokee. I'm imagining something with a Celtic or Pictish design with Viking Runes to start with. Maybe family names in each language. For example My Cherokee ancestors name in Cherokee script, Norwegian in Runes, and Scotch/Irish in Gaelic.

And my second choice would most likely be a phrase in Kanji "Masakatsu Agatsu" meaning "True Victory is Self Victory". Which would be a constant reminder to myself to keep up the unending effort to improve myself everyway that I can.

Well, I'm planning two tattoes...
First, late this year, I'm getting the same wings HYDE has on my upper back.
And my girlfriend drew a picture in class last year... and we thought it was cool, and it was that song that brought us together, kinda odd, but it's cool.

"Art of Life" written along the stem..... it was serious cool, we're getting matching Art of Life tattoes after we get married!!!

My great-grandmother died this year. As none of you may know[hehe], my birthday is on June 14th and this year i celebrated my sweet sixteen. my real b-day feel on a weekday so we ended up celebrating on June 16th. me and my best friend were in the swimming pool when i noticed my grandparents and mom had left.

my great g-ma had been in a nursing home since March and not doing well and tonight[june 16] she was horrible. june 17th was father's day. me and my best friend woke up and my dad took her home while my mom was at my g-ma's house. my dad said it was because she needed to be with her dad on father's day. i was playing ddr when my mom came home and she asked if my dad said anything. i said no. then she told me my great g-ma had died that morning[june 17].

to tell you the truth, i wasn't surprised; i saw it coming. it wasn't until i was alone or at the funeral when it hit me. i felt so bad. i never went to see her while she was in the nursing home. but she was in bad condition, can you blame me?

i have this beautiful blouse she made me, it's jade green with black piping and a mandarin collar. she never got to see me wear it. i want to cry everyday because i think getting to see me would have help her a little bit. i'm not try to brag or sound conceited, but she loved me more than anything, as i did her. she was a very strong woman, lived to be 89. she sewed anytime she could and was a celebrity in her small town because of it.

so in her memory, i want to get a tattoo of a sewing needle with a thread going through the eye, making a heart with a cursive 'E'[her name is Estelle]. i want it to look like it's going through my skin. here's a crappy example i concocted.

i would think seeing as it's for my great g-ma my mom might would let me. i hope.

maybe.......but if all else fails, you tell her that you're getting it and she can't stop you.......and eventually she'll realize there are too many opportunities to go get a tatoo.....:rheart:

yeah but seeing as i'm 16 and no shop around here will do someone under 18 w/o a guardian, idk how it'll work. =/

i totally understand what your going through, my grandma died on my 12th birthday. Hence the reason, why im never allowed to celebrate much on my birthday

I am a foreigner living in Japan, and i want to meet other foreigners online to talk about stuff.

I live in Hot spring country and i think its stoopid that they bann tattoos just cause they think that you might be a ganster. Especially since i'm a foreigner and there's no way i could be down wit Yakuza.

I wanna hear bout if anyone else has these problems, and how they get round it.

Frankly i think Japanese people should realize that outside of Japan, Tattoos have different meanins, in Cananda i think its like one in 5 or one in ten people have some sort of tattoo.

i see the name it's written horizontally the J is long the E is short and the N is long as well
i have a tat too (tat-too lol) i'll try to get it up here by this evening. oh yeah its pretty cool!

i have a reaper on my shoulder and flames on my wrist i am not done with them yet i will put them on some time and by the time i am done my arms neck and back with have tatoos

I love the idea of that, I've considered getting a few smaller tattoos but I don't know what yet.
