Tattoo Help
 

I paid 2 bucks last night to be painted Death kanji on my arm. ( temp. tattoo; will last only for 2 week)

Anyway, at home I checked the web;


So, this is the real death kanji looks like? And it reads as " shi " ?

But my version looks like this:


Am I ripped off? hehehe, I want my 2 bucks back :D

it doesnt look like that kanji but it doesnt look like another one...
well i suck at japanese so yeah...

Good thing noone around me knows a thing about Kanji, so they'll buy anything I say about this tattoo ;)

If you ask me its the same kanji. it make look a bit diffrent but if you change the angle a bit on the strokes, then it looks like the same thing only in diffrent styles.

if you tilt your head to the right a little and squint your eyes it looks like it... good thing its only temporary ^^;
and if it was only 2 bucks... i don't think you got ripped off.. you got what you payed for.

It already wore off. This temp. tatoo is fun thing. You can have a different one each week. It's like having a accessory.

Tattoo's? Who has them and can we see it?

I'm new to this forum but I love japan and japanese culture (O.k. I had a japanese girlfriend and since then... you know how women can open you're eyes to new things).

SO as my first post I thought it'd be cool to see if any of you have tattoos?


Im 27, British (Gaijin right?) and 6ft2. I have one tattoo. The tattoo I have is of a phoenix but hidden in the tail is my ex-girlfriends name, J E N.

I bet you can't see it. I drew this tattoo myself and I got it done in Bali. My girlfriend bought it as a present and she liked that her name was hidden inside it as a secret. I will give you a clue, the name is in the tail.

Also do you all like tattoos? Do you think they are horrible? Id like to know what the japanese and anyone else thinks.

Id love to see anyone elses tattoos and reasons why you got them...

I love tatoos but I am still a littl bit too young to get one. (I'm 16 and have to be 18 without paren'ts permission).

My first one is going to be a celtic cross on my shoulder. =]

And why a celtic cross? Are you irish? Im curious as to why you would choose it.

I choose a phoenix as they are reborn out of fire and I thought that was a good metaphor for the realtionship I had with my ex, it also had her name in it so I thought it tired up nicely.

I would really like to get some sort of story or motto or something written down my spine. :3 Then I'd like to have '2112' tattooed on my wrist and the Kanji for my name (nan) somewhere. Maybe my upper arm or something. *shrugs* I don't know.

Why 2112 on ur wrist?

Is a Kanji the way you're name is written in japanese? I don't know what a Kanji is so you'll have to teach me.

Any particular story spring to mind?

It's would be a medium size croos. I'm Irish and my dad might be getting the same one I want on his forarm so we could have matching tatoos.
And then I want my dog's name on my lower back. He's like my life.

The JEN is in the very bottom of the tail. The J is a curl of the tail then a compressed e then N is on the right. Once u see it it will be obvious.

I have four tats. This one me & my husband got the day after we got married. They have the wedding date in the banner. Sorry the pics are kinda blurry.

I'm not thinking of getting a tattoo and probably never will, unless I change my mind radically.

Sometimes they look good but fairies, butterflies, dragons, tribals and stuff like that are boring and unoriginal as fuck.

but at times the designs symbolyz things in that persons life and to me thats so cool!!!-if gettn one has a meanin to it then thats cool

i want wings like Housetek's on my back, a cherry blossom branch, maybe with a snake wrapped around it, on my wrist, and a dragon on my foot. there's a whole lot more i want but idk where i'd put 'em. lol

- wings on back.
- fairy sitting on a moon on my shoulder w/ fairy dust trailing down my back.
- "the journey is more important than the end or the start" on my lower back or in japanese calligraphy or kanji down my spine.
- a dragon on each of my inner forearms.
- kanji for numbers 1-10 on my knuckles and thumbs.
- a dragon on my foot.
- a red heart "sewed" on my hip.
- pink spiders crawling down one of my arms.
- Nintendo character Yoshi on my inner right wrist
- cherry blossoms on the back of my neck.
- a red guitar on the back of my neck.
- dir en grey "obscure" geisha on my side.

i have a lot more but they're just not in my head right now.

~a heartagram (the band H.I.M's symbol) on the back of my neck
~a broken heart that is stiched and taped that says 'Still beating' under it
on my pelvic bone

Usually it's a bad idea,but it also can be cool.It depends,I guess.

I don't like tribals or Olde English fonts.

I'm having my name in katakana down my arm, with the first symbol in flames, the second in ice and the third surrounded by lightning.
That one's already booked.
Then there's the heart on my chest.
It will have wings, and flames coming out the top, and in the middle of it, there will be the kanji for hope.
That one is currently being designed.

I hate them for the most part.......they're just ugly, and they don't make you unique by getting them, because every one else has one too these days, if not many......I might like one of the seal that put away the Kyuubi somewhere on me, but will probably not get it, because, who needs a fake when you're the real thing anyway!!!??..lol....

you will not get hired if you have tattos. I was going to get one many years ago but then..there is a chance of getting diseases such as AIDS and hepatitis from the needles..I hear it is safe now..but you never know ...everything carries a risk..I have 10 holes in each ear right now..and I think that is quite a bit of piercing...:vsign:

You may be right about some bosses but suit covers most of the skin :)

You have total 20 piercing and you are talking about AIDS risk, dudeeee... I guess chances of hitting bu a car is more than getting AIDS from a quality tattoo shop.

I do like the idea of getting similar themed tattoos when u get a married. That is romantic...

I also thought the dragon on the arm looked cool.

I would like to get another. I do think you can have too many but something else. I dont' like the tribal tats either.
