i think you should wait until high school or at least 8th grade

Deviruu 07-24-2009 04:40 AM

This is late, late, late. I did the same thing in my middle school in 5th grade, got made fun of constantly, yet I still did it because I liked it.

It was tough. Especially if you suffer from any kind of chemical imbalance.

Even in high school it's tough here. I go to a "rich" school where you have to be skinny, athletic, a&f to fit in. ( Though I bet that goes for most schools.) So having black/pink poofy hair didn't help last year. :mtongue:

I got good comments, I got bad comments. Don't let others talk you out of what you like. You don't need a bunch of kids being jerks over a style. That's just ridiculous how kids are now. Kids are jerks in middle AND high school, but high school is much better compared to middle school.

Strut your style proudly~

No I don't. Dressing up as Lolita in any way is like screaming for attention.

I know that this is a pretty old thread but I wanted to put my own two cents in. I think, that middle school is a little to young to be wearing Lolita clothes. Everyone that keeps saying, "Wait until high school," it doesn't get any easier. I dressed in Loli clothes all the time, and I even wore a lot of VK stuff, and the people at my school were nothing but assholes. I went to the kind of school were, if you didn't have pants that were ten sizes too big and shirts that had pictures of pot-heads on it, you were a freak. All in all, school life is basically like the real world. It's filled with judgemental butt-munchers that think they can play god and dictate how you dress and live.

I'd say dressing up is a hobby. Keep it that way. Don't take it to school.

Most of the time, for Lolita's, it isn't 'dressing up.' It's just how they dress. Like I wouldn't say goth is 'dressing up.'

In some cases it just isn't practical, however.

You should totally wait until your older, kids that age or evil and immature. Whating for highschool is the best cause you wont be so out of place cause pretty much everyone will be finding themeselve and experimenting. So yourself the touture. and wait it out.

I don't think it really matters what society you're in or what age group you are dealing with, if it's not Japan... dressing in Lolita, especially in the states is going to get you a few negative comments.

Many Lolita outfits are very skimpy or teasing..not only that but they stand out a lot, and so don't be surprised if you wear it and people around you lack respect, what outfit looks good in a photo isn't always acceptable in the real world.
