I'm glad we have idiots like Kaicui in the World, it supports my argument for involuntary euthanasia and cleansing the gene pool.

MariYa 10-22-2007 11:10 AM

LOL, I think that's too much even for Kakui. The gene pool thing and euthanasia...I will just ignore his comments...And may I suggest to do the same, instead of wasting jf space on him..

if i may say so. i think Kai just wants to put across the view that he doesn't like wannabes. I don't think he's racially predjudiced, just that he thinks that a few too many people try to dress japanese and sometimes, it doesn't suit them.

Kaicui 10-22-2007 09:01 PM

lol the only reason i was different was because not everyone were being such spamming ass dicks b4

MariYa 10-23-2007 10:21 AM

one thing is to say you don't like it, another thing is to say you won't show the website to non Japanese people.
Like for example you may tell us the site but say that you dont like when other nationalities wear Japanese stuff. BTW. What about Japanese electronics in peoples homes ? We shouldnt use it either?(Sony electronics, Seiko watches, Nikon)?

Excellent point about the electronics...

And lol... if cutures didn't cross and share their clothing, everyone would be naked! (doesn't sound too bad lol... joking)
It's like saying you have to wear chav get-up if you're British and noone else in the world can wear tracksuits and burberry caps, but the British.
Plus you guys don't really need to buy clothes from Japanese sites, because in most big cities you'll be able to find items similar to the clothing designed by Japanese designers- regardless of whether it came from Japan or elsewhere.
In England Blue Banana has some stuff you can probably smash together to give a "Japanese style" look... regardless of the fact the clothes were probably sewn together in Bangladesh or wherever... In fact I'll go check where my top I got from there comes from... and it's from India.

Blue Banana - Body Jewellery, Alternative Clothing and Accessories

In Birmingham, England there's also Oasis market, huge multi-level place, sells nearly every alternative- and some normal- style(s). There's bound to be loads of shops in London too.
Then again you guys might only want stuff that actually comes from Japanese designers... personally I go for how the items look rather than what designer they come from. I do like to think I have my own little style going on, but people judge, so I don't mind whether people want to put me as long as it's not chav -.- that'd be bad.
As for the wannabes thing... I think it only applies to people who actually want to be Japanese- I mean people that want to have the Japanese features. That reminds me (sorry this is long) I was looking at the plastic surgery in Japan on some Japanese models and stars and I noticed most of them had their eyes widened... and why do Japanese people dye their hair colours like blonde and auburn? (Sorry for attacking the Japanese here... I know other people from different races- not exculding white people- do this kind of thing too).
Another example... I think too much... EMO! I liked the emo fashion for a period of time and looked like an emo, but I didn't do things associated with being emo, like cutting myself, hanging about pigeon park, etc. So for that example, my point is: fashion is fashion... it doesn't matter who wears it! However, I do agree that some people have to be conscious of what they put on in the morning, some looks don't suit everyone immediately.
Sorry for the length.

Oh right i can relate to that...cos the black boys here (in London) are quite racist...if a "white boy" is wearing rocawear they get cussed or get "jacked" (steal) their clothes...which is quite harsh...I dont agree with it:vsign:

I don't think people should be afraid to wear stuff because they think someone is going to attack them for it. And I know this may sound a bit harsh, but it seems to be a serious crime if something like what you mentioned happens to a black guy- it's labelled "racist", but people couldn't care less if it happens to a white guy, it doesn't seem to be racist then. However, I do guess it depends on where you go, Birmingham actually seems pretty friendly compared to most other cities... like Islamic/Sikh/hindu people mix with Christian/atheist/other religions. Like in college there is a large group of Indian people- that play all the proper Indian music and talk about their religion and culture- and they have Chinese/Japanese friends and white friends. It's like me and my friend, she's a muslim and lives by her culture and religion and I'm pretty much atheist and don't live by any religious standard- I wasn't brought up in a religious family.
Anyways, I'm rambling... but what I'm trying to say is that people should be able to mix confidently- whether that is in appearance [clothing] or mentality- without others discriminating against them. Also discrimination, mentioned and shown in this thread should be seen as a complete wrong, and even get to the level where society shuns this kind of behaviour!

Or we could all just go naked ;)

EDIT: By the way: Apparel I haven't looked around the site yet; I don't really need more clothes and other possessions, lol.

I'm Korean, but everyone says I look Japanese - including my own parents >.<

People are convinced I'm Japanese... or Chinese... never Korean... *gloom*

But I think the points everyone is trying to say is-

1. People who want to be Japanese - wanna bes - should really embrace Japanese culture, but not to an extent they're wearing all Japanese clothes.

2. People are racist, we may not appreciate it but there are.

3. We all love Japanese fashion even if we're not Japanese.

4. Everyone on this site has the right to say what they want without being jumped on

Stop using the English language, then. You're not white, you don't come from an English-speaking country, so stop using it... you fucking wannabe! There should be a ban on Japanese people dying their hair any colour that isn't black or brown, and on plastic surgery that widens eyes or shapes the face any different than what is typically seem in the face of Japanese people. You're saying basically the same thing, what if people held these views against you and your culture? I live with a racist family and I could repeat hundreds of racist things that have been used against the Japanese- with this my point is, even if you think something or hear something you don't have to say it, just keep it to yourself... I guess I'd be more understanding if you were an old man, because the old generations are stuck in their racist past, but you're a young man, what's wrong with you?
I agree that some people can take fashion overboard, but it's their own personal mistake. Plus when I look at Japanese fashion online then go to the shops, there's basically the same style in the shops to what is online, it just has a different label... For example: Sex Pot Revenge, black and pink jumper, can also be bought from Oasis market, but with a different label in.
Also, just to point out, I'm defending people that want to wear Japanese labels, but I don't actually own anything from Japan- except a pair of chop sticks which I thought were pretty (bought in England) and those weird cookie things... which are now in my stomach (also bought in England). I think maybe we should all just drop this topic? I know how hard it is to change a racist persons views... in fact it's almost impossible. However, it's most likely someone will say something and then I'll end up writing again... where are the moderates of this forum? Usually on any other forum this thread would be closed, because we're all just spamming it, defending our opinions.
If I could make a suggest? People should maybe stop looking online for Japanese fashion and go out and create their own from what they find in the shops... it's fun and cheaper! =)

(But then again, Japanese decorer style- pink and red together? I'd chose to leave the house in my underwear if all I owned was a pink t-shirt and red skirt...) =O Shouldn't have wrote that, but that's what I think, and a million people could disagree. Like I also think grey makes you look fat, purple is a disgusting colour and you can't wear blue and black together. Now if I went around sprouting that to everybody, I wouldn't be that popular...

Kaicui 10-26-2007 10:46 PM

dude shorten plz

clairebear 10-26-2007 10:49 PM

Can you stop using the word "jap"? -_-

K2minisoldier 10-26-2007 11:01 PM

ok...
1)KaiCui yes i admit its pretty weird when people are obsessed with another culture, but thats no reason to be so harsh. thats basically promoting yourself as an asshole. which im sure youre not.
2)this is JAPANforum after all im sure that people generally agree that everyone in someway or another really happens to adore japan and since its your country you should feel...proud..er?

i dunno i just feel that its mean to limit something especially as universal as fashion to a certain ethnicity. everything in the modern world is connected anyways japanese fashion has western influenes just as lets say london fashion has asian influences. (sometimes not all)

clairebear 10-26-2007 11:04 PM

some people are just fascinated with certain countries...its normal.

just because someone wears/likes japanese clothing doesnt mean they wanna be japanese. thats stupid.

lelio 10-31-2007 06:02 AM

you know its not too hard to use google to translate pages...
who cares about the prejudice of one other person when you can bypass them...
