The reason I'm asking this is because today I went to the awesome-est slice of Japan there is in New Jersey. I'm talking about Mitsuwa Marketplace. I was like a kid in a candy store. Well I spent most of my time in the candy section, so I kinda was a kid in a candy store. Mitsuwa sells every Japanese food item you can imagine as well as appliances and beauty products. There is also a food court where I enjoyed some delicious shoyu ramen that I regret not finishing. Specialty Japanese stores owned by Mitsuwa surround the market place. Sanseido Bookstore is one of them. They sell Japanese books, magazines, manga, and even DVD rentals of the best Japanese movies and dorama. I can't get over this place! I NEED TO GO AGAIN!!! Oh and in my town there is a small Asian supermarket, but they don't sell much. :D Enough of my rant. what about you guys?

Can i ask where in Jersey? Im from there and the only anything i know of thats anytype of asian is in Cherry Hill, that asian market if you know where im talking bout....

Yes, we have a large asian population in our town and the neighboring town, so we tend to have asian stores and restaurants in a lot of places.

Lol...you live in Bad News, eh? I went to middle school there, and high school in Hampton. :) I never paid attention to the names unfortunately, but as my best friend is Vietnamese, I'd always go shopping with her mom at the Asian Market lol. We have quite a few up here new St. Louis, too. One of them is really close to my house and I love it because I can get my snack fix (I'm addicted to manjuu, the rice crackers with nori around them, and the real fruit juice gummies). xD

Yeah, we got a Mitsuwa in Arlington Heights. And we have Little Korea by Skokie and Niles has an Asian market. Of, and of course there's China Town...

I live close to the arlington heights stuff. There are 3 asian markets all around Mitsuwa and Woodfield. I think its an H mart and Asii i think.

I would answer... But... As I live in Japan my answer would be pointless. :D

So I`ll answer for where I grew up. There was a Japanese "mall" of sorts (restaurant, grocery store, Japanese preschool) thanks to Honda and Nissan having factories nearby - but it was out of my travel range. Living by a huge university though, there was never any shortage of small Asian markets.
