Sushi

My favorite food Of all tiime would have to be sushi. Im america alot of people dont want to try new things and are conservative. I would know because where I grew up there were alot of them. But back to Sushi.:mtongue: Its easy to make and tastes great. Just about a week ago me and my friends through an awesome party. But the catch was the the main food idea was sushi. My favorite is California rolls so that was one that we got alot of. Alot of people showed up and were skeptical at first but most of them ended up liking it. (exept some of the haters) But thats them.

Peace out

I adore sushi! Most of my friends turn up their noses when I eat it though but I think some people have to realise it is much more appetizing than it sounds ^_^

I don't look to my food I just eat it (n__n')

I always have in my bento-bex : Nigiri Sushi, Maki Sushi (Futo maki, Hoso maki, Ura maki)

It's delicious and healthy because it has alot of proteins too!

My favorite sushi is the shrimp kind and what I call the "birdseed" kind. So good.

Once my best friend made sushi for my birthday... I got a bit sick from eating it and later adding wasabi paste to it.

The shrimp sushi are called Ebi (海老): Boiled shrimp or Ama-ebi (甘海老): Raw Pink shrimp

Drooling is an understatement. The unagi in that pic looks perfect! Its one of the best shots of it I have ever seen.

I first tried sushi because I couldn't think of another way to get nori, rice and wasabi served in a restaurant without the fish.

Before long I was addicted to it. I have it as often as the wallet can manage the expense.

Whenever someone says they don't want to try raw fish I steer them to the dishes with shellfish that are cooked. Or if they don't want seafood, there is beef or vegetable versions - umeboshi, natto, and diakon rasish or other pickled veggies. A hand roll with umeboshi, natto and a perilla leaf is my all time favorite, other than unagi or hamachi sashimi. So far the only thing I have tried that I don't like is uni. I am in that half of the population that really can't handle the taste.

These days I am not enjoying sushi but hosting a group of people who get to gether to try out all the Japanese restaurants in north central Texas. We have have some really good food because fresh fish is flown in daily (or more often).

Someone mentioned sushi smelling funny. I would say if you smell something "fishy" don't eat it raw. Fresh fish does not have that strong aroma.
