I eat it on occasion. I voted monthly. We have this great Mongolian place in our town that serves some other Asian food as well and there's sushi there. I like some of it better than others, and I usually pull that black stuff off that holds it together. It's icky >.<

Sushi!
I love sushi. All kinds. The problem is that wherever I go, none of it is labled so I have no idea as to what's in it.
It's still all really good, though. And because I live in a dorm in the middle of downtown, it is now far easier to get some...THEY JUST OPENED A SUSHI BAR RIGHT DOWN THE ROAD FROM WHERE I LIVE!!! Can you tell I am excited? ^^^ -yes. It has three eyes... so what?- I can walk four blocks and up some stairs and I get enough sushi to satisfy the hungriest person on Earth. Yum. |
Check out this guys homepage. He has some neat tips. He also wrote a book about sushi that is very good at answering the questions you ask.

I'm not sure it depends some resturants use pickled ginger which gives off that really sour taste and some use fresh ginger sarinated in hot sauce or soy sauce.
I love fatty tuna sushi and crab sushi there really good. Ell sushi is a little strong for me though, it taste good but the taste is really strong. Crab Sushi is somewhat sweetly mild (yes I mad that word up ^_^). Oh yea you can also ask the chef there suppose to come out from the kitchen anyways to see if there dish was a big hit. |
I'm afraid of sushi
Every time I go to my favorite Japanese restaurant, I always play over the bizarre fantasy in my head of ordering sushi... but I never actually do. Something about the thought of raw fish scares me. and seaweed smells like goldfish food... I just end up ordering fried rice and chicken stir fry. Any comments on sushi? What does it taste like?

sushi is really good! I'm a really picky eater, I am also very paranoid about food, but I love sushi^^ tuna is my favorite

When I first tried sushi I didn't like it since tere was a lot of vinager on the rice but after a while I started getting use to it. It's pretty good. If you're at an ethntic japanese resturant (or anywhere for that matter) don't worry about the fish being raw since the people who make it have YEARS of practice.
