Ah, but that was a bilingual pun! 盆栽+万歳=盆ザイ! Ergo, an overenthusiastic miniature tree Really, I guess we don't have to involve Japanese at all, since both "bonsai" and "banzai" have entered English. "Bonzai" we might say is an overenthusiastic tree in English even!

I like to think it is what great oaks shout as they gleefully topple over to block roads and squish the horrible human motorists who foul the air with their machines.
