Because it's already been said that Hollywood is running out of ideas. They're turning to anime to solve this "writer's block". Hopefully it's just a phase -_-;

This is probably the worst thing I've heard all year.
Here I was thinking that the DBZ movie took the gold prize for winning the "Most terrible contest". This is beyond reason.

I disagree, I don't think americans completly ruined Mario, but I can't say the same thing about other remakes.

To my knowledge there wasnt a japanese mario movie? was just the concept.. something about it for me just didnt feel right..

The Ring, Ju-On (The Grudge) minds gone blank now.. I'm sure theres more.

I wonder why the creators of the show ever give the go ahead for any remakes?

Akira Toriyama (Dragonball) wasn't too pleased with the idea for DBGT (or with the end result) so im surpised he gave the go ahead for the american release...

Well, I just checked on this Zac Efron guy and I don't understand why everyone is making a huge fuss about.

1. He does have some acting experience, even if most of his acting consists in Disney's shows and small roles in TV series.

2. Nobody else comes in my mind when it comes to similar looks with Light, and he really looks like Light.


3. Even if some other 'super' actor is chosen for Lights role and that would satisfy everyone, lets not forget that there are other problems that consist, like who's going to play L, who's the director, and how loose the American version will be.


It's really to early to jump into conclusions, so please people, stop all this OMG! Zac Efron as Light??? WTF!!! nonsense, it's bad for your health.
