alot of the times the plot is stupid and the movie is just a rip off of ju-on(another crappy japanese movie might even be more crappy then the american version )
but then there are some japanese horror movies that arent scary but are interesting/suspensful
I'm sure there are scary japanese horror movies out there that i havent seen yet
anyone here get what I mean?

Maybe you're just not easily scared...?
Has an American horror ever scared you? If not, maybe you're just not scared easily, or you're scared in a different way aside from movies all together.
Anywho, just because you aren't scared by JHorror, doesn't meant that others aren't as well. Just keep an open mind - maybe next time you watch a JHorror movie, decide why others might think it's scary, and think less of why you don't think it's scary =)

I sort of get what you're saying but I personally love Japanese horror films. I've seen probably close to 50 of them. A lot of them have the same ghost concept just like a lot of horror films in the U.S. are based off of vampires and werewolves and things like that. A lot of them are more sad than scary, but it just gets like that if you see enough of them. I've been looking for a movie lately that will really scare me instead of just making me sad, but I haven't found it yet.

But if you're bored with J-Horror than I strongly recommend watching some Korean horror movies. They have the same ghost concept too, but I've been noticing that I get slightly more afraid with Korean horror films.

I watched a couple Korean horror films. Those are creepy.

Ningyou 12-15-2008 02:43 AM

Yeah, they are.

Which ones did you watch?

Miyavifan 12-15-2008 02:45 AM

The Eye and The Eye 2.

(I don't know if they're the creepiest, as they're the only ones I've seen)

I'm thinking I should watch more Jhorror films.

Three... Extremes - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
(is there a Korean horror thread?)

Ningyou 12-15-2008 03:51 AM

The Three Extremes was Japanese, Chinese, and Korean.

And I'm not sure if there is a Korean horror movie thread or not o.O if not, I'm going to make one right now.

In relation to The Eye. Has anyone seen The Eye 10? It's basically about a few college friends who try to see ghosts. The number "10" is derived from the number of ways someone can see ghosts, not, in fact, the tenth in the series.
