That's it I think--there's a lot of themes of revenge and justice that ground the scary in the real...it's not just random ghost stuff, it's punishment, it's morality, and I think that really connects (and is sometimes lost in the translations). I'm thinking of The Grudge, obviously, and Shutter--there's that mystery revelation element that makes the horror more tense, where you find out WHY this is happening...some of the American horrors, there is no why, it's just random, and that's harder to grasp and it doesn't get under your skin and in your head the way these movies often can.

3 Iron didn't seem creepy to me.

The manga is just far out!

I loved the scene where Kakihara dacks some insolent guy in the mansion, shoots him in the rear twice and then throws him off the balcony (his wound spraying the nearby buildings and residents with blood). It was brutal but so overthetop that it was bleakly funny.

I didn't think 3-Iron was creepy at all o.O were you being sarcastic?

just watch another 'horror' japanese movie based on actual events..

yeah, they are making some serious cash just by remaking good movies, and in my opinion butchering them>.<

They really are.
