Basicly, his style is defined as alternative metal more than shock rock.

Well, I think he makes deep and meaningful music. He expresses feelings and thoughts, it's talk about important stuff, like politics, drugs, oppression, affection, etc.

Yes he does make rock. That is the overall genre. I wasn't being very specific what sub-genre but MM is known as a "rockstar" above all else. He goes to rock awards and comes on rock tv channels.

As for his deep and meaningful music, I think the majority of people don't listen to his music because it is deep or meaningful. They like the catchyness of it and because it is just Raw music to them which they can easily listen to.
Again, that is my experience with people anyway.
If he wanted to talk about deep and meaningful stuff, he could make it more obvious for the listener.
First impressions count for a lot. Once you like an artist for what you initially perceive them as, it'll take some effort to think of them as something else.

Hahaha, just because he's featured there doesn't mean he's into JUST rock, because that was what I said. Media has no idea how to put genres nowadays, you should know that. I saw a review of a Moi dix Mois concert where they called them glam rock when the band clearly plays gothic metal, so my advice is not to trust something from the television.

Loads of people do that, it's a great way for people who have been ignored for years to get noticed and get their opinion heard. Maybe that's just how he is anyway? Who knows, either way, it worked.

Uhm, those I mentioned are among his most famous songs, I have other favourites.
Yes, I know Nine Inch Nails, and yes I know Manson have played with Nine Inch Nails, and yes I know they are in the same label as Manson. The only thing that Trent Reznor (only him, not the rest of NIN) helps with are the videos and the mixing of some songs, that's it. He doesn't write stuff for Manson.
I'm not offended, I'm just trying make some things clear for people.
And did you just call me a girl?
