Steven Seagal was my inspriation to practice Aikido, via Aikido I got interested in the Japanese culture.

Im also practising Wing Chun for 2 years to improve my striking abilities.

I trained Aikido in Japan for a year or so. It was fun, and a lot more 'intense' than most of the 'dance studios' that I've seen in the states.

While training by yourself is not so bad, especially because it reinforces what is learned, if you are attacked, you don't have much time to think. How will you be able to change your circumstances? Can you block the person's attack and subdue them quickly? Do you know how to move and use your body correctly?

That's why I'd like to go to Thailand; not only will I be taught Muay Boran as it's supposed to be, but it will also correct what I might be doing wrong, and put an emphasis on those situations. I don't know how well I'll do against another because I've only hit the air in front of me. My muscles have seemingly gotten more developed, and I feel much better, but I need to know that I'm doing everything correctly. All I have is a bunch of banana trees, but they still produce bananas, and I feel it would be a waste to kick them.

And unless you find a banana tree that will kick you back, you will only get so much out of that.

Man, I'm a "brazilian jiu-jitsu" black-belt. Some time ago, we received a Japanese Aikido master ( 4th Degree, I think).
He was looking for a trainning and I accepted a little combat, and I stayed really shocked with his art. What wonderful style. Congratulations.

I practice Kendo, started not so long ago. Like it a lot =) But I do have some difficulties, and the more I advance, I seem to get more and more flaws. So annoying.

Thank you, you know im a big Steven Seagal fan. The only thing I dislike about Seagal is that he formed his own style of Aikido, he made Aikido look offensive and violent while it is a complete selfdefence art with no first strike.
