Release date for america is December 9th!

It takes place 2 years after P3, some diffrences to P3 are: Can select Expert mode right off the bat, can control all party members, social links with party members add help features (helping you up from down, slapping bad staus effects off of you...literally, pushing you out of the way of attacks.), Down status no longer makes you or the enemy lose a turn, if you are critted or hit with your weak element while you are downed however you enter faint status and lose a turn.

Overall this game looks ALOTTTT better then P3! I'm so gonna get this, anyone eles intrested in it?

*cries* I need it. But I only have $50 towards my PS3 to buy P4. The P3 is sooo much fun and I want to get the older games, but this is going to be exciting. Now I have five games I need to buy for the PS3.

Persona 4 is for the PS2

Really?! I thought it'd be for the PS3. Maybe it was created right when the PS3 came out and is now being put into America, I guess.

It's really funny. In P3, I had literally EVERYBODY either be bffs or hate me for their arcanas. I ignored so many, and hung out with so many others... By the end of the game, all the girls and the Frenchy didn't like me. I had an in-game gf... :mtongue:

lol, nah it's for PS2 cause it uses the same engine P3 did. I like how in 4 that all the party members have social links, and that raising them helps you in battle. It came out in japan a month ago, we get it december....I CANT WAIT DAMMIT!....if you wanna see vids of it on youtube look for a user named "Stepmaru" she posted her run on EXPERT mode. if you want normal mode vids look for "MasterLL"

Nope, only the main char can switch.

Oh sweet. I guess now I have a reason to pop P3 back in and finish it, I don't think I've even reached the 50th floor.

Shame it's only on PS2.

That's weird. But, it's all cool in the end. I told my bff about P4 coming out soon, and she was jumping out of her chair. Even though she's not a gamer, she loves watching me play. :mtongue:

There's 250-something floors, excluding the bonus floors. :eek: You got a while to go. It's so worth it in the end. I remember when I had a snowday last year, and I woke up at 4:30-11 just playing P3. It was awesome and I accomplished many floors and bosses.

In persona 4 you take a trip to the Gekokaun Highschool and the bayside area!

Actually, P4 is in the same world about 2 years after the events of P3.

This is known because Chihiro makes an appearence as a senior now.

Also, Igor's new assistant, Elizabeths sister, is taking over while Elizabeth is off "saving a boy from a wall," if I remember correctly.

For rabid fans of the series (such as myself) the meaning of this is clear. She's saving the main character of P3 from the wall that holds back Nyx and that other, greater shadow.

However, I'm wondering about the implications of this, as it's the MC of P3's spirit that basically IS the wall... Maybe this will come up in P5, since the series is almost guarunteed to have a fifth (technically sixth...) installment.

Atlus wouldn't possibly leave their fans wanting, would they?

Do you know what connections you can make from P1 and P2 to any of the other games? I want to see if I can find an American version of the older games on Ebay... But, whatever.

And omg, Chihiro was my girlfriend in game!! How dare she break up with me and make an appearance in the newer game. *cry*

Well... Persona 3 was the start of a whole new Persona era. The MC and alot of other things were different, with very little reference to the original 3.

Actually, if I remember correctly, the only direct reference story wise to the first two in Persona 3 was the online game, Innocent Sin Online.

This was a reference to one of the two Persona 2 games, Innocent Sin and Eternal Punishment, IS being the only one that came stateside (because EP had a gay social link and a few other "taboos," I believe).

However, while the first two Personas were directly connected, the third has no major storyline connection to them. Even Igor didn't exist in the first 2.

4, however, will be based in the same world, and will have the same Igor, but I'm not sure if there are any other, more direct, connections...

only minor connections like the enemys being shadows

I didnt bother with the expansion pack. I'll just ebay the plushie, only worthwhile part of it imo. I preordered it months ago

I like the plushie, the CD and I wanna rub the t-shirt in the face of a friend of mine... So, yeah, lol.

I think her Persona's cool, personally. Though I like the MC's and the delinquent's much better.

Hey, am I the only person going to buy this on the first day it comes out?! **** homework! I'm going to let myself splurge on the first night of playing it!

I'm so happy. Yesterday, I spent my whole day finishing up and completing P3. I love Aigis... ♥ The game in general took forever to play because I never have time to play it. hehe.

Nope. Actually, one of my parents is going to be at the store when they open to pick it up for me.

I have school at that time, so... Yeah... Blech...

However, my store has a tendancy to recieve less hyped games a day late, so I don't know if that's what's going to happen with this one or not...

Ahhh. I go to GameStop if the game I want is not at Wal-Mart. My mom is so funny. I usually don't buy a game on the first day or week when it comes out and she's all like:

"Are you sure it isn't at Wal-Mart? We can get a discount. But you don't get a discount on new games at GameStop. Are you REALLY sure you want to go to GameStop? Are you sure it really would not be in Wal-Mart?"

"No."

"But, really. Are you sure?"

lol. It's funny. :D My mommie-kins works at Wal-Mart, so she's making sure anyway that she find it there before we get home from school/work.

They don't sell the Persona games where I live, so I of course pre-ordered the game on Amazon. Now, I just need to wait until I go home (silly college finals, take forever) and then plan for a whole month to only take breaks between working and studying my Japanese.

i'm having a friend pick mine up at the store tomorrow since i'll be busy at work in the hospital.

i hope they don't run out of artbooks. >.>

Don't they automatically come with art books? When I bought P3 it all came together. I wouldn't doubt it not coming with and art book. Also, not that many people, compared to WoW; GoW; Halo; etc., would be there picking up P4. So, I think everybody is the green zone. :)

I GO IT!! I was in the car driving for an hour and half going to the really far away bank for money, driving back to GameStop with money, and picking up my family Chinese all in CRAZY, ICE ROADS AND NEARLY CRASHING/KILLING MYSELF.

Definitely worth it. XD I got the art and CD too. XD I hope there's a snow day so I can play all night. The main character is going to take on the name of Liz-kun like last time. :cool:

Started my file on expert :) I just beat the 3rd dungeon! :) the 1st and 3rd super bosses were very mean T_T

Well... Because of my parents deciding to be pains in my arse and hold them for Christmas, I haven't played the game or seen the artbook as of yet.

However, I just got my social link expansion pack today.

The t-shirt is pretty sweet, the soundtrack is awesome, and the plushie was worth the cost all on his own, lol.

The calender is actually marked with Japanese holidays and such, as well as giving little insights into the minds of the masters who made the game, lol.

Overall, I like it. I'm wearing the shirt tomorrow. I might just take a picture or something of myself and put it up on the forum for all to see, lol.

i'm going to start playing it next week after finals. :3

I'm on the 3rd to last dungeon. Expert mode is HORRIBLY unfair! battle starts. enemy uses mabufula. hits everyone for 300. next one does same. MC dies. GAMEOVER! :D......also Kanji sucks, I wouldn't use him if I were you

I've only defeated Yukiko's evil-bird-shadow thing and she just joined my party. I also joined the soccer club and drama club. I've been playing it a lot compared to how much I normally play a game during the school year. lol. I'm having fun and I'm not actually annoyed by any lead female characters unlike 95% of the previous game's population. *cough*FuukaYukari*cough*
