yea i feel you on that, plus by the time i go, i should be fluent in japanese, ill still be a little sucky in kanji tho, but if i can speak japanese ill just ask the questions needed, but ill just take meds with me just in case i do get sick, cus weather there and here where i stay (georgia) are completely different, its 84 deg here and its 61 deg there....i usually only get sick if i do, in the winter, quick changes in temperature and trigger it, like going from being warm in the house to being cold if i were to go outside without proper layers..its real inconvenient cus i love winter (mostly for fashion reasons lol jackets and boots) but yea, thas wat it iz...all in all, sickle cell sucks, be glad u dont have it, but im more fortunate than others so i dont let it bother me |
I think Japan is just like any other country,
you have humans living in it, and some humans are idiots, so yes of course you might find people against black people, but you just have to ignore it, even if sometimes you find it hard. |

I think the border of racism is high in Japan. With that I mean that I think that Japanese people aren't racist in general. I think being black is not that much of an issue, I guess it's more whether or not youre Japanese. |

i think its impossible for me to ignore some1 being racist....i really really really dont like being disrespected i feel thats the only thing that will really get me in trouble with the law, is that....theres no way i can just ignore it.....u can put me away for assault.....but u would have learned a lesson youll never forget, i can put that on god. |

I remember reading this girl's online journal years ago. She visited her friend in Japan. During her entire stay there, her friend's mother only served pizza because she thought that was what "Americans liked". Okay, bad example since it's not really "disrespectful", but I just thought it was a cute story nonetheless. |

yea thats not disrespectful id think pretty highly of that girls mother because she went out of her way to serve food that she doesnt normally eat every night because she thought it was something i would want. thats an example of how respectful japanese ppl are, lol, i get it tho! |

Prejudice exists in every country, but Japan isn't like 1950s Alabama. People may be curious so try not to get the wrong idea if someone glances over, its just because of all foreigners in Japan there aren't that many people of African heritage living there. Also if you look at Japan's history compared to the us, Japan never had African slaves, or racial segregation. And people of African heritage didn't first arrive in Japan until post-WW2. So chill out man its alright  |
yosh preciate the input! i actually dont mind being stared at long as u like what u see
lol |

I know it is hard to ignore it, because even I have problems with people being racist to me, and Im not even black...But what I try to do is to dont show them that they hurt me, that's what they want, to hurt you... |
