Moving to Tokyo for work, need help.

Hello :)

I am looking for place to rent in Tokyo Japan. My work will start on the 30th of July 2007, I would love to hear from people who maybe willing to help, give me tips etc. My job will be located in a place called Tennozu Isle, South Tokyo. Address, 2-3-14 Hiqashi-Shinaqawa Shinaqawa-Ku, Tokyo, Japan. Perference is a furnished place, close to work, budget 100,000 - 200,000. About myself: From New Zealand and Fiji, I am a IT professional, love living :) and many more. PM me if that is possible.

is your budget for a week, or a month? If for a month, you might have to look outside of Tokyo and commute - I pay about just under 350000 yen a month for my appartment in Yokohama... the further out you are from a city centre, the cheaper it will be however

My advice would be to maybe try looking in Kawasaki or even Tsurumi as they are a little further from Shinagawa, but you only need a single train (the JR negishi line will go straight to Shinagawa) to get there which would be quite easy for you

No idea about furnished appartments... mine had nothing when I moved in apart from floors, doors, shower and a toilet lol

350000? Thats too much. I`m paying 70 000 円 a month for a room with a bathroom.

I think you should try to find some nice gaijin guest house, they are cheap.

Hey thanks, that amount I mentioned is for a month. I have been looking on the net, there are places for the price I mentioned, but the movin cost seems too much. Plus there are places, which are unfurnished, but then again you have to buy then :)

VERY easy lol. As far as I could tell when I moved, most places will deliver futons etc. to your appartment/house if requested

Cool, what's futons like, to sleep on :)? And what do you think one most important thing I should know about living in Japan, cos I have never been there?

futons are just like any other matress imo... some people say not as comfy but I can't tell the difference

As for one important thing... be prepared for insanely humid days during the summer... it is horrible lol

Thanks, you mean loads of lite T-Shits and shorts etc eh, during the summer season!
