if u could live in japan then what city?
if u could move to japan and could speak the language what city or area would u like to live in ? and why?
for me it is harajuku area in Tokyo since i met most of my Japanese pals their like the guys at bowl-o-rama those guys were wicked nice |
Nagoya or Yokohama not too big not too small and plus it has it's traditional ways of Japan ;)
If i could change locations id stay in Roppongi or Shinjuku
Roppongi cuz i know alot of bar owners and bartenders. Shinjuku cuz of the crazy late night arcades, bowling alleys, kareoki, and breakdancing. =) |
Probably Sapporo, Nagoya,or Kyoto.

tokyo!!!!!!!!....

Probably Kobe. It's got it all, and in a smaller, more managable space. It is cleaner than Osaka, but I like Osaka a lot, too. Nara is also one of my favorite places in Japan.
I love living in Osaka. I prefer here or somewhere in Hyogo :D
Probably in Kyoto (gion?)
I actually already live in Japan, namely Tokyo, but if I could relocate I would probably choose from:
1. Kobe for all its cosmopolitan atmosphere and great restaurants 2. Sapporo for its fresh air, mild summers, and insane ramen joints I seriously don't know why so many foreigners keep coming to Tokyo. It's undoubtedly a great city for the tourist. But as a place to live, i'm not too sure. Many of them do end up complaining about Tokyo sooner or later. People are generally friendlier and the prices are lower in other cities. Unless you are the type that can happily live in New york City or London, I urge you to reconsider Tokyo. |
I don't understand all the hype around Harajuku. Yes, it has the takeshita dori, the omotesando and on sunday there are cosplayers and jrocker wannabes hanging around the place... but seriously, living there?? no...
(Reply mainly at MMM)
Lived in Kobe for a year and a half and loved it. Job brought me to the Dark Side of Tokyo, which is where I am now. I like it more than I thought I would, but deep down I miss Kobe. Miss 神戸弁 (which I still lapse into) and 南京町, Sannomiya, Motomachi... Never much cared for Osaka at all, and deer-infested Nara is...well, it's deer-infested. And touristy. At least it's better than the hell that is Kyoto. :mtongue: |
I'd love to live Shibuya, Tokyo or Harajuku. They seem to be the coolest places in Japan, and I'd prob. meet a lot of friends there too. ^^
Tokyo, I've heard soooo many stories about it. I think it just represents modern Japan. I can't die before I've seen Tokyo xD
Osaka for sure. My friend that went to study in Tokyo had told me she met the most people, and the had the greatest time in Osaka. She also went on to say they have amazing bars, chock full of interesting people :)
That or Mutsu, because my friend just moved there a month ago :) |
Osaka or Kyoto would be my choices, either one would satisfy me.^___^

Hmm, Kyoto. Dunno why..
Sapporo or Kyoto..
Or maybe Harajuku in Tokyo.. :p |
where would be the best place to live if u had never been to japan before?
That would be hard to say. For one thing we don't know what kind of a person you are, what you like doing for fun, etc... You might even decide by drawing or something. Let me introduce a Japanese saying here:
"Sumeba miyako." It means any place you live will be the capital. |
defiantly tokyo
tokyo would be the popular answer though personally I would like to go somewhere less crowded. I know Japan is a crowded place but I mean somewhere more remote? I don't have any examples. Tokyo Seems like a nice place to visit allot but maybe a little hectic to start out in.
i wanna back to my Hometown, Osaka .
tokyou is too busy i think,. vry individualist ., i like osaka, hehe besides, i could meet many comedian there., xDD yooshaaa~! |
Man i wish I could live there.. dont you need some kind of good reason though? You can't just up and move right?
Right on, pandayanyan!!
I can't believe all these young anime/Jrock fans are answering 'Tokyo!!' in this thread. It's hard even for a Japanese fresh out of high school or even college to move to Tokyo and start a new life there. I live in Tokyo myself and I've met so many non-Japanese (mostly guys from smaller towns in North American) complaining about the City after a while. If you don't like the idea of getting literally pushed around and stepped on your feet on the train every morning and evening, or paying a rent for a small studio that could get you an entire house with a garden in your hometown, Japan surely has many other nicer, smaller, and friendlier towns for you. |
i like friendly
I don't know, which city I would choose. Tokyo is rather nice, but it's very crowded. I lived there for a half year and it was great but I don't think I would like to live in that city for many years.
Either Tokyo or Kyoto, for obvious reasons.
