Les Sorinieres is on the outskirts of Nantes, in Loire Atlantique.... I spent some time there after going to a wedding. I've been to Bagneres de Bigorre as well, after a skiing trip to Andorra....

I used to live in Spain, so those places weren't too far away for me....

It's not really big but Bourges is quite a famous city.
Did you ever went to France? I think you could do that, you will just need to speeck a little french because many people aren't that great in english here (especialy if they do short degree as patissier as they don't need foreign language in their job).
Yes she's in Kagurazaka it's kinda French area in Tokyo you can find there french cheese strore too =p. Do you like cheese?
It's not very hard to get a working holiday visa, you will find all information on the french ambassy site I guess.
It Shikoku? I didn't go there but I planed to visit more the countryside next time I come ^^ I think I saw a TV report about pilgrimage in Shikoku... people in white clothe walking around the island visiting temples and praying.
Japanese orange and mikan are so good... I miss them T_T

If you just do sight seeing english is enought but if you wanna meet or talk to chef boulanger or patissier you will need French. That's great! many japanese like french cheese ^_^. (but chedar is not french). I went to public bath in a Ryokan, but not natural hot spring. It was so nice ^__^
