I gotta admit, I prefer slim boys with a light ammount of muscle. Heavy muscle to me is gross, but that is just my thoughts on giant builds. I think that it just depends on the person, you just need to find a girl that likes muscle. I'm pretty sure that there are Japanese girls that like that, but you probably didn't meet them, thats all...maybe next time^^

It all depends on personal taste. I am creeeeeped out by muscular guys. Eww. My boyfriend isn't skinny, but not fat either. And I love him just the way he is. ^.^

Flirtation's not a game about right or wrong; your primal, basic, biological functions can tell you that.

And eye f-king is great silent flirtation, if you read the rest of that beautiful sentence I wrote. Nothing wrong with a bit of mental stripping at first, then having a chat; nothing at all.

All of the above derogetory words you used I'll overlook, since you can't imagine any other guy on the planet playing the dating game in a different manner than your own. It's cool, but I just do it differently, that's all.

But yes, muscles on guys in Japan? Not so much. Hell, take a look at major JPop/JRock artists; the only reason I can tell is usually by the voice, and even then, in some cases, it's a long shot.

You haven't read the thread then. It's already been pointed out that the pop/rock markets are not representative of Japanese woman's taste in men.

I believe Japanese women are like women anywhere I've been in the world... while a thin frame is not undesirable per se... Most women will prefer a muscular, lean physique over it.

In fact I think THAT is a biological fact... though I'm not a biologist so can't really say for sure.

True, but I don't think someone's personal taste in body structure, based solely on their own personality, mindset, and personal sexual attractions, has anything to do with biology.

Regardless, all the typecasting for women going for the lanky looking fellows doesn't help women's image in their personal taste in men much. Kinda' a downer. 'Course, there's a reason for everything.

Oh for sure....

However the way I look at it.. biology is sort of like the default setting before all the psychological factors are taken into account.

I don't quite understand the second part of your post though. There's a typecast for women going for lanky guys?

Sure. Why else was this whole thread made?

The hotties walking down the street, decked out in nothing but consumerist garbage? Typecasted to like guys who subscribe to the same level of consumerist culture they do, bad boys, or muscle men.

Same holds true for guys too. That nerd walking down the street, reading his favorite Sci-Fi novel? Typecasted to only go out with other, neardy women, or to pine after the afore mentioned girls.

We're always very quick to jump the gun, assume something, and pass a judgement on someone. Why not do it in other cultures?

No, I don't condone this behavior. Just saying that it happens. Frequently.

Lol, strange to say... but this topic is a real eye-opener for me hahaha

I'm from Holland and we like guys for there character. Offcourse we're shallow too, we look at how cute they are. But some like musculin guys and some like slimmer guys... Maybe it's because we have so much races/ nationality's here.

When I think back about our time in Tokyo... now I realize... the men aren't build big, like buff. No wonder Japanese woman do like there men slim.

Another lesson learned (to quote Alicia Keys :P )
