When I was applying for colleges, I thought about maybe trying to shoot for a job in Japan. I was talking to an advisor and he said that most colleges can get you a job oversees if you play your cards right (academics, what your majoring & minoring in, etc.). That "piece of paper" can almost be like a gateway from my understanding. I asked him if I did decide to do that (get a job in Japan), would I have to learn the language? Surprisingly he said that I wouldn't have to (He actually flat out said no). The reasoning behind it I don't know and how legitimate this info is, but the college this advisor was at said they had ties to another college over in Japan so I myself think he knew at least to some degree what he was talking about.
