I have a couple of Chinese Friends and they say the same things about Japan before they had any experience living here. I don't know how history is being perceived/taught there regarding Japan, cause mos of them says that before they were hesitant on coming to Japan because they thought that Japanese ppl are scary and full of bad people. But after staying in Japan, their views of the country changed.
