There are a couple bits where I can't make out the handwriting, but here's my quick, rough translation. It gets all the bits right, but misses some nuances I'm sure, in my haste:
Dear Sue & Derek
We came aaaaall the way from Japan. It was a beautiful/awesome cottage, and we three (parents and child) had a great time. We hope many more guests from Japan come!

PS In Japan today is also "Tanabata." [can't read the handwriting, but something about the constellations and "romantic"**]; it's a special evening.
