I don't mean to help you guys derail further, but we don't call なadjectives "形容詞" in Japanese. They are called 形容動詞. Accordingly, ナ形容詞 is also just the forced translation of the English term "na-adjective", which originally never existed in Japanese. It never existed because, as I stated, we don't consider what you call "na-adjectives" to be 形容詞 = adjectives.  

Ask your students if they have ever heard of the term ナ形容詞.
