I am Chinese.. more Chinese than anyone can possibly imagine. I lived in Japan between age 7-9. And I've been visiting almost once a year since 2005. So far, I don't sense any discrimination.

If you are worry due to historical events and recent incident, then I think you need not worry. I am sure there are racist people anywhere and everywhere, Japan too, and I am sure there are people who sulk over incidents, but they won't do anything to you.

That said, I won't recommend traveling alone if you've never been...
