While I agree with all of you, I still think we should all keep in mind that the episodes werent just delayed because they were worried about being associated with the murder (Im sure thats part of it, though) they also thought it would be too distastefull to play them right after the incedent; and they were eventualy aired.

So, while I dont blame anime for the incedent, I still thin it was apropriate for the episodes to be delayed.

i just think u probably cant say that one thing like anime can drive "any" person to do somehintg like killing people. however if there are persons who already have problems then it might make it worse, but anime might help other persons who have problems aswell but in a good way.

So what your saying is somone is mentaly ill watching violant anime can be worse for there mental health?

hmm...I'm not sure about that one. I think if somone is having mental problams (as that girl clearly was) nothing is really going to change that (for better or worse), but I guess its possible that violant anime could give you bad Idea's, if your already mentaly ill.

i'm sorry, but personally I NEVER get ny morbid ideas from animes and manga or any other films cos I know that you just don't copy any ideas from it. Authors and such publish things for us to "enjoy" and trust us as an audience to not do anything stupid. And why should we anyway?

Nopes. It does not haves any influence.Violence is natural and typical of humans. It will always be there. With or without violent animes or violent games.

Well, if you healthy and normal thats all fine and good. But sometimes mentaly ill people have trouble distinguishing fiction from reality. So its not such a huge strech to say that if a crazy person watched somthing violant, they might imitate it.

Which is not to say that we should hold any anime comanys responsible for anything. If somone does somthing extremley violant that they imitated from some violant anime, that person only has themselves to blame. Anime can NOT make you mentally ill, and that person would have done somthing violant anyway.

Basicly what Im saying (and this just my opinion) is that violance in the media can provide psychopaths with Ideas of what kind of violance they want to commit, but it can NOT drive somone to that point (they already have to be there).

Um... Yeah. Regardless of what anime shows, people will still do acts like this. ANYWAY- Minor things still happen because my best friends at school act like anime characters and do things like do... O_O

Thanks for reading!

My vote is with you, ILOVEJAPAN, I grew with Bugs Bunny and the Road Runner and both of these were essentially violence as plot and motivation. I've never stuck my finger in the barrel of a gun to make it backfire nor dropped an anvil on someone's head. Images of violence may provide an unbalanced or sick person ideas to act in that manner but the potential had to be there in the first place or they would not act on it.

This is a debate that continues to rage but continues ignore what is underlying the action: some people are just plain sick. It's just easier to blame something than it is to leave people just wondering. We are looking at the foundations of propaganda and we all know were large scale finger pointing leads. If you're unsure, look at the propaganda of earlier Nazi Germany as the National Socialist provided the people with a scapegoat for their predicament after the first world war.
