basically means he is fluent in Chinese

which doesn't mean he can read kanji perfectly as not everything directly translates over too...so no, he cannot read that many japanese KANJI, chinese however

I used to be semi-literate during my teens thanks to Japanese school. Years and years have past since then and although I can still read a good number of kanji, I'm not sure if I can them without a computer.

haha..you're right, I haven't notice that it is Kanji, not Hanzi (Chinese characters)

Ever since I finished high school I've totally slacked off learning Japanese and I'm ashamed -.-; I knew a good 300-400 kanji when I left, but now...maybe 200 or so. Probably less... *droops even more* -.-;;;;;;
