`Right of the Japanese people`

This is nothing but another statement resulting from western fetishes that romanticize Japan as some sort of mystic, ancient place belonging to enthnic Japanese people.
we can afford to think so about japan coz there "is many west" but only on certain place on the world japan and its not big..... this "fetish" nourishes our perceived exotic of japan

Okay, dude, Japan isn't Pokemon. Geez. NOT POKEMON. If America is what cartoons make it out to be, then it'd be a lot better place eh. If your connection to Japan is Pokemon... you don't have a connection with Japan, at least in the way you're making out. Not even close.

I truly am laughing at your 'coz pokemon would bring me back down and "show me real japan" line. Nothing, I repeat NOTHING about Pokemon shows the 'real Japan.'

No... it does not explain Japan. I mean, like you said it's fiction... since when the heck did fiction show the true country? I suppose you believe there's a Narnia in every wardrobe too?

And you seem to be the one misinterpreting Japan, dude...
u misunderstand coz u dont know me or my connection to japan or my "opinion" of japan, u dont know what connects me to japan and i said that it doesnt explain on the way u understand, u cant know me and u cantk now what i think of japan, u would highly respect me if u would see into me and be ashamed to write , i implied by this text not to reply to it coz its not objective and nobody could understand meaning of it but by seeing into me

u should read the text better

u dont know neither (spirit of) pokemon (in the way as me, and i understand it better than anybody else nonjapanese(i dont know how japanese think of pokemon), it all refers to first seasons) or my connection to japan. i doubted that somebody will dare to reply to what i wrote coz it should remain unreplied coz it refers to me and not to general issue which all ppl have to follow(maybe they will if they like how im inside).....

i read 4 hrs about debito and stuff coz somebody posted a link and i couldnt stop, and i forgot what i wanted to say, i can only ask whats the reason for these signs? ppl must be low intelligent unreasonable hicks if they dont accept person as they are(concerning hair police)

and what i wanted through all this thread to know is how japanese think about this, its what i expect(ed):" we dont approve this coz we real japanese think that all must be treated equally and those racists arent japanese and they misinterpret japan and we dont connect their behavior to japanese culture, we always welcome foreigners"

this would help it up

to nyororin:

i expected japan to be more developed(=to use english more than in other countries) but in wikipedia when i see some band name or something whose name is branded and is its own name (like Hellogoodbye - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia) i compare wikipedia languages and see how many of them have original name in them and japanese always fails(saudi arabia isnt international as japan and its understandable that nobody wants to do with arabic, and on other "not good enough" languages its same like thailandic), japanese has no reason to translate it to japanese other than different writing system, japan is global enough and to not know english is a sin nowadays(the more so in japan coz all non japanese expect this from some most popular country, japan is too internationalized to not to contribute to english language/japan is so global that its surprisable that in japanese only few know english), japanese should be the last language that would translate wikipedia original names to japanese coz its so global, but coz it does it it makes japan look like an isolated country like north korea who isnt open enough for something like this, though there could be a problem with "old"(age) japanese who arent used to english and 2011 but they are original names and japanese mutilates them and it takes like their meaning away, not even russian dares to go to this level(other languages with other writing system can afford it coz they arent popular anyway and they arent "good" as japanese), first language that i learned was russian and there r many hicks who arent able to communicate on english and its a shame coz its 2011 and english is like 2nd language, its a must

who doesnt learn japanese and expect english in japan r to be blamed themselves, i write only about wikipedia articles

its how it is
ハローグッバイ (バンド) - Wikipedia

its how it should be ²
h ttp://ja.wikipedia.org/wiki/hellogoodbye

dont tell that japanese r dumb and cant learn english when they want to know something about a band who has its name in english, they dont need to write on japanese(except its hard to switch between JP EN keyboard)

someday it will be like ², and i wonder why it isnt now, japan has already much to do with english(not only coz of tourists)

gaijins(it remembers me of goy, jews use it for others than jews,i would like to have it maijin coz goy can be compared to gaijin and it has similarity to goy coz of g in it) r to be blamed when they cant speak on japanese but nowadays it must be a shame for a japanese(or from any other country) not to speak english, its not just "language of usa" its the world langauge and is meant to be spoken everywhere and to be understood everywhere, but u can afford not to have it in my view, it keeps japan somehow japanese(i dont mean that japan would alter if every japanese would speak english, it would be even better somehow)

Yeah you're right. My bad.

He is or at least was a professor at some university at Hokkaido.

For some reason I thought he taught law (which still doesn't make him a lawyer) but he didn't.

I didn't read any of what you said... mostly because it's long winded but also your English sucks.

Wrong.. he teaches (or taught) something along the lines of information science or something.

I checked because I wanted to see if I was mistaken about the lawyer/teaching law thing that steel called me out on.

Debito was a straight up English teacher, then got his masters and is an associate professor teaching business English and debating in Hokkaido.

He teaches at a school called Hokkaido Information University. They have various faculties including "informatics" but that does not make him an IT instructor or professor.

In his Linkedin profile, he includes a line "Research Field: Japan's Internationalization, and Racial Discrimination in Japan (rest abridged)" implying somehow his position is related to his activist work. However, if you check to see which courses he is actually teaching, you see that he is just another (f*****) English teacher (his words):

(no 'negotiation' nor 'debate' classes there nor in his title as he has claimed in the past)

ECONOMICS DEPARTMENT

Yes, he's worked in this department for a little over a year, and in the school itself for a number of years ere. However, as written above it is misleading. For him to claim that he is a member of this department without more information would be like me claiming that I am a faculty member of the Hokkaido Information of Technology, or Hokkaido University's Faculty of Nuclear Engineering, or the Japanese Air Self Defense Forces, simply because I teach English there part-time as well.

Moreover, he's not even an economist. He teaches English. He's a JAFET (Just Another English Teacher) like me.
The same school is currently seeking an English instructor for their "Medical Informatics Dept": 専任教員の募集(医療情報学科:英語)【募集終了】 | 教員募集 | 北海道情報大学 Qualified candidates require a Masters degree or above. And, their title will be either Professor, Associate Professor or Lecturer depending on their experience and probably, age. However, functionally they will be English teachers - and certainly not medical doctors or healthcare professionals.

The slightly disturbed author of this blog claims Debito pervs on his female students:

Let us also not forget dudes like in the suburbs of Sapporo, Hokkaido Information University. A decade ago, the Gaijin American born turncoat D.A./A.D. infamous for his " Sex 4 Grades " sham and many more that in the decades of my long life span in the Land of the Un-Rising Sun, I've heard of from either themselves after a few pints or from harassed broads, equally willing to talk after guzzling a few.
