it looks horrible on the picture, but apparently it's called Tako Yaki.... is it really squid with mayo?? I know I also like fried squid, but this one is one of the best food experiences I had in Tokyo....soooo.... yup I ate it at some temple and man...awesome ^^

Takoyaki- thats like diced octopus in dough balls with sauce- mayo/Japanese brown sauce.

Its sooo heavenly.
I have never tried any proper japanese ones
but oddly enough, some sushi bars sell takoyaki, despite it being usual street food.

oh really?? Hmm...I'll see if any sushi bars sells takoyaki over here, but I seirously doubt it

That is odd. You'd lose all your customers if you did that here in Japan. That's like publicly admitting that your sushi don't sell well. Formally-trained sushi chefs would surely refuse to make takoyaki, too. I love takoyaki but I'd hate to smell takoyaki while eating sushi.

I love ramen a lot, but someone says, ramen originally isn't from japan. is that true?

btw, when I watch Doraemon eating dorayaki, I always want to eat it. I wonder if it's real J-food..

It's true. Ramen originally comes from China. I don't know why almost everyone on JF seems to think it's Japanese food. Most Japanese still consider it to be Chinese food, and we actually go to Chinese restaurants to eat ramen here in Japan.

Yes, dorayaki is a popular Japanese snack.

I always eat ramen at japanese restaurant
how about udon? I saw some udon served with ice cubes. is it for summer?
