I wonder what a cactus tastes like.....*don't really wanna know*

I'd actually try the shrimp and crab ones...I love shrimp and crab, and any other crustacean for that matter.

I'm so weird...

cactii are actually eaten in some parts. it tastes sour and salty, I don't like it. but some cactii like the prickly pear bear sweet fruit, which would not be a bad ice cream flavor. i've only ever seen green tea ice cream as far as asian flavor in ice cream.

That is my favorite. Green Tea ice cream is served in Japanese restaurants in the U.S. widely. I was surprised by your comment since I have never see any American who did not like it so far. Going sushi bar 20 times with Americans is not enough to make a conclusion, huh?

If the OP actually resides in Nakano-Shimbashi, he should know that most Japanese don't eat these icecreams, period. It's even nearly impossible to find a place that sells them in the first place.

I'm tired of the non-Japanese people on JF who keep claiming that "they" eat normal things and the Japanese don't.

Would you like to PM a moderator and ask for my location yourself?

Second of all, I'm pretty sure I didn't say that everyone here eat's those kinds of ice cream, nor did I write the article in the first place. I was merely sharing the fact that Japan does have ice cream in those flavors somewhere. Most Japanese don't cosplay and such either, but it's talked about a lot on this forum isn't it? So you can go be tired elsewhere

Hmm, I would probably try the cactus ice cream, mostly because I have
no earthly idea what cactus would taste like 0_0 . The second one I would try
would be the Eel ice cream, also because I've never had eel, and might as
well try two new things at once ^_^

Interesting flavors, though I can't say I'm surprised.
If you really thought about it, you'd notice the usual ice cream we eat
already are pretty strange by themselves.

In my local Asian markets in the US we have ice cream flavours such as Green Bean, Red Bean, Taro, Lychee, Mixed Fruit and Beans, Peanut (not butter), Jack Fruit, and a few others sold in regular tubs next to more conventional flavours.
I plan on trying each and every one x3

Also. I have personally seen sausages wrapped in chocolate chip pancakes on a stick. Plus so many foods are overly processed, greased and sugarized.

But that's not to say you don't have good food as well- you do Just...there's also a lot of bad ones too.

Also, on topic, I've tried green tea, and red bean paste. Matcha is used in a lot of things, and I've even tried Matcha green tea sorbet. It's actually very refreshing. But I think those flavoures are simply novelty, and are made from artificial flavours.

Had wasabi ice cream at one place in Hakone I think...wasn't as bad as I'd thought it might be though, and wasn't particularly spicy!
