But realistically, Green tea just tastes like hot water anyway

I'm sorry in poor English

green tea taste=powderded green tea(maccha/抹茶)

The green tea taste used for food has powdered green tea.
different from the green tea(ryokucha /緑茶) in the manufacturing method, some taste changes.

Nah, I don't think you have tasted the real green tea then.

What you're talking about is the green tea we drink everyday.

The green tea used in the tea ceremony and foods (especially deserts) is incredibly strong powdered green tea. It doesn't taste like hot water at all. In fact, it's so strong that it will make you gag the first time.

I did not gag. But it is definately a strong flavour.
It's a heavy taste yet, like many Japanese dishes it's still clean tasting.
Worth a try. Maybe Green Tea Ice Cream first.

Is the tea you're referring to 抹茶? I visited a tea house during my time in Fukuoka, and while it was strong, I didn't gag. While I don't have the greatest memory of the taste, I'll agree that it's nothing like a regular cup of green tea.

Yeah, I'm talking about 抹茶. That's the tea used to make desserts. I was exaggerating when I said you'd gag, of course. I just wanted people to know that whenever they hear about "green tea something" like Green Tea KitKat, they should NOT be thinking about the regular green tea that they get for free in Japanese restaurants.

Green tea jelly - 09-16-2010, 07:37 PM

If, You like serve the green tea jelly in your home than do it. If, You like milk in your tea, You can add that too. Just don’t boil the milk and add it. when you add your sugar. Just make sure that you use slightly less water to accommodate for the amount of milk you are using. You can also add powdered in the milk and use the same water measurement and One of my personal favourites is Red strawberry jelly, This ruby red, tangy jelly wakes up any breakfast without the caffeine. Most herbal teas are naturally caffeine-free.
