Japanese symbol meaning help - 04-01-2009, 01:10 AM

My name is Kaleigh. I looked up what it would look like and mean in Japanese.

I was looking and Kanji, version 1 from this site

What is my name in Japanese: Kaleigh

I just wanted to make sure this is legit, i was thinking of getting it tattooed and i don't want to if it's not the right meanings of my name.

Any help is appreciated!

This one would better among those samples.

However, I do not recommend you to make tattoe on yourself because you might find much more better Kanji for your name.

This site seems to have very limitted kanji symbols. They have only three kind of kanji for "LEIGH". There can be more kanjis for "LEI/REI" like as 怜,令,零,鈴,伶 or 令. And moreover, 香麗 could be another candidate.

She wouldn't have Kanji for her name @ all.

I was thinking the same thing as you Yuusuke.

I believe your name would be katakana, and would be:
カレイ
Kaleigh

Maybe... It depends on how you pronounce your name

Nope, its ケイリー

And, Foreign names CAN be done in Kanji as its the readings of the kanji that can form it. This can be tricky though as not everyones name can be done.. Also, some kanji have many readings so it may be difficult to guess how your name is pronounced if its written in kanji.

I'm sorry for all the bad stuff I said and all the feelings I hurt.. Please forgive me

Kaleigh is not a Japanese name, so the only option is writing it in katakana, which begs the question, why?

the best way to get your name in kanji would probably be this..

1. Find out the meaning of your name
2. Find the Japanese name that has the same meaning..
3. Bam, you have your japanese kanji name..

It would be a name that had the same meaning as your name, but was someone else's name.
