片付く - 03-31-2011, 10:37 AM

Hi, could someone kindly provide me with examples for verb "片付く(be put in order)" for my better understanding of its usage?

やっと部屋が片付いた。

宿題が片付くまではゲームができない。

この問題が片付いたらどこか旅行に行きたい。

下の娘が先に片付いた。残るは上だけだ。

Think the difference between "to clean a room" and "a room is clean."

Hi, please kindly check if my translations are correct and translate the last one on my behalf because I have no idea what it means.

やっと部屋が片付いた。
The room was finally cleaned/tidy up.

宿題が片付くまではゲームができない。
I cannot play tv games until I am done with my homework.

この問題が片付いたらどこか旅行に行きたい。
I would like to go on a trip somewhere after this problem has been solved.

下の娘が先に片付いた。残るは上だけだ。

Hey, man! Did I say 「片付く > 片付い」 someplace?

片付い is not a word.

片付いた(かたづいた) is the past tense of 片付く.

The first three are correct. For the last, please take a look at the link below and try again.

Duuude lol no I changed it to make the quote shorter but I guess I shortend it so much that I missed off a syllable!

So it works like this?

片付く
片付きます
片付いた
片付いて

What would be the negative version?

片付くない? 片付かない? Confusing myself haha.

Thanks again
