Kanagawa Prefecture - 01-30-2010, 11:43 AM

I have just had a job offer to work in this city but I have my heart set on moving to Tokyo. Can anyone offer any advice on this city. Is it possible to commute to Tokyo at the weekends etc. What sort of reputation does it have etc etc

Any information would be appreciated, thanks.....

Let's get the geography straight. Kanagawa is not a city. It's a prefecture and it has many cities and towns in it.

It's true that MANY Kanagawans commute to Tokyo.

The prefecture Kanagawa is right south of Tokyo, so it depends in wich city you live.
If you live in Yokohama for example you can be in Tokyo in 30 min and the cost is 540yen
If you live futher away you will need more time to get there and back, but it should be possible to get there for the evening or weekend if you want to.

Back home after 1 year work and travel in Japan and 3 month in Korea: www.teglas.asia (text is in German, but see the pictures!)

Thanks for the tips, I have worked in three countries in Asia and this will be my first time in Japan hence the lack of knowledge.

Any other advice would be appreciated...
