No, Light wasn't deciding anything. He killed only criminals, those condemned to death, and also those who got on his path to prevent this, like L.

L knew Light's logic was trilling, so that's why he joined the case... he had his doubts whether Light was right or wrong.

I wouldn't have been in that situation in the first place. I am innocent compared to Yagami Light.

I understand it as 'I'll kill anyone who wants to kill me' because Light was in a situation that if L found him he would be executed.

Of course, obviously you'd use the Death Note to kill people from preventing you having a better life, job and such stuff etc. because that's what a normal guy would do. And that is worse actually.

Light didn't do it for his own interest, he thought it was a helpful thing for the humanity... and it DID work but L never stopped searching for Kira so Light was forced to kill him.

I'm going to take Yagami's side on this one, I would have ended up doing exactly the same thing as him.

I was on L's side. Light got too carried away...it's his own fault that he put attention on him. Why didn't he think about how suspicious it would look that all the world's criminals were dying of heart attacks (mostly)?
