O.O So that meas if Near or Mello were to pit themselves against Light alone... They'd be dead X_X However, since Near and Mello are both trying to apprehend Kira... Maybe they could actually win...(without refering to the manga -.-) But then again, Near and Mello are both enemies too... Hm...

Thats not necessarily true, L only died because he didn't know about Rem and Misa's connexion, with all the information L gathered and his disposal Near stands a fair chance, also Near could be the smartest of them all, just give it a few more years.
I wouldn't really say they're enemies, more like rivals, well to Mello anyway >.< Near couldn't care less.

Having information and being smart are two separate issues ^_^ So if that's the case, alone, they would die faster than L did... In "Supernatural" cases intelligence wont help you because its not something you can just find out because your smart, its by chance that you would find something like that out (Well not anymore >.<)
