wellit strikes me that it is the area that you are living in. Not everybody is like that but there are plenty of them about--always has been. do you think that Japanese people never get drunk? Oh dear so the old people annoy you-- thats such a shame-- wellnevermind you should get old one day too.

Not that I share Jambo's opinion.. I agree that Scotland has nice places and nice people (I have some friends from Scotland)

But there is not the same binge drinking culture in Japan that there is in Britain and for that matter Australia and New Zealand.

That's not to say that there aren't drunk people. Drunken businessmen are not uncommon... but they are usually on their way home after work drinks or something.

since our country started having bars open 24/7 the binge drinking has accelerated.

Why so many have to turn to alcohol to "enjoy themselves" I will never know.

I know that loads of people in Japan get drunk, but the difference being, that its after a hard days work in the evening, and not in the mid afternoon. Not all old people annoy me, and I'm sure there some very nice older folk out there. But some just annoy me so much, just by doing so little. Like on Tuesday, the bus stopped, the doors opened and they just stood there. When I nipped quickly in to get on, I heard them muttering about manner and the like. They had plenty of chance to move for the bus but did nothing. I guess it is the area I'm in. Perhaps one reason why I'm looking forward to University, and getting on buses with people that are not half-stoned.

I love Japan and its culture but to die for it is too much. I don't think I can eat sushi or watch Gundam if I die haha.

But I gotta admit that nowaday China is acting like a big dog (and it's actually a big dog albeit a lousy dog that still moan about it's prosperity 4000 years ago and about the war 60 years ago)

But I really wanna kick this dog's a.....s someday not for Japan or the US but for my own sake.

I just feel its boasting about 4000 years culture quite boring.

I believe every country has a right to protect themselves. To rip off its army is like put someone in a straight jacket. That's nonsense. If other country has full-fledge army, Japan should have it too, espeacially when there is a mad dog that wanna avenge for his 60 years old rotten bone is near them!

Where do people get this ridiculous idea that Japan does not have a fully capable defence force? Only 6 other countries in the world spend more on their military than Japan does. Their offensive capabilities are curtailed by their constitution and as far as I can tell the majority of Japanese people still support this. There's no problem with their defensive capabilities though.

I wouldn't even fight for my country, I would fight for humanity, but not for a country, fighting amonsgt men is IMO the stupidest thing.
