Japan does have it's own army. They have the 7th highest military expenditure in the world behind the US, China, UK, France, Russia and Germany. In the town I live there is quite a large army base which is a very important part fo the local economy. Just because Japan has a non agression clause in their constitution now does not mean they have not maintained a substantial defence force. Or are you saying that Japan should be able to change the role of their forces from one of defence to focus more on offensive capabilities?

Hostile China?? I don't think China has ever invaded any other country, they have war amongst themselves but that's about it..

I stand corrected on China not invading other country..

my response was the over top ? no i don't think so, a stupidity like this one is something i cannot tolerated.

I know some history... I didn't say it wasn't worth learning.

Just said that it's not worth getting all emotional about history.

There are plenty of historical programmes on TV re Scotland and ENGLAND etc.
I've seen some of the history programmes about Scotland, and they bore me to death. I also have seen somebody pis**d out their head and singing loudly to themselves at quarter to 4 in the afternoon. And the place is full of the scum of society, and old people that annoy me. Why would I want to fight for that? I think I'd rather watch tbh, and hope Japan win.
