Need help on identifying what this tattoo means ^^

Gus G - the guitarist of Firewind has been my idol since i was around 14, and he has this tattoo on his arm (see below), im not sure what language its actually in, or what it means, i was hoping that someone would be able to tell me. I was thinking of getting the tattoo in homeage, providing it wasnt something silly.
thanks for all your help :)

It says "Fire Wind".

Haha, figures xD
What characters are those? Or are they letters?
Also is this Japanese?

火風

To my understanding it could be either language.. but from a Japanese learners point of view, 火風 is Japanese for fire wind.

火 Fire (pronounced hi)
風 Wind (kaze)

Why would "fire wind" make sense?

It's the name of the guitarist's band.

"Either language" you mean Chinese or Japanese?

How come his "wind" symbol looks a little different??
thanks

Also, would anybody have a "caligraphic" version of these characters?
That look really suave and fancy? :P
thanks

Yes. But I don't speak Chinese so I don't know.. They may have other meanings in Chinese.

I think its cuz its either badly done or just too far away. Could be me having the wrong kanji too though cuz I'm only a begginner Japanese learner, but 風
is the only way I know how to say "wind".

Do it yourself. They're pretty simple characters and stroke order doesn't seem to matter in caligraphy cuz to me they never look the way they do when printed or written in pen.. lol

hehe maybe you see why i like them xD
and i got some pretty cool looking ones off the net, stuck them on top of eachother, but i dunno what i should do about making it look more jazzy for my own tattoo hehe

As far as my Japanese skills go I'd say the reading is "hi-fuu". You use the on-reading for 風.
