You imagined it. We sometimes do see that tendency, though.

There actually is a Japanese word association game thread on here.

hanzi and kanji

Hellos you all!

Would like to bring out a point about how chinese characters differ from kanji.
They are sometimes the other way round..?

The earlier on posted:
(jap) 凸凹 deko boko
(chi) 凹凸 (不平) au tu (bu ping)
[both meaning bumpiness, non smooth-ness)

One of your essential words:
(jap) 紹介 (する) shoukai (suru)
(chi) 介紹 jie shao
[both meaning to introduce, introduction]

The use of the term 'jap' is prohibited on Japan Forum.

That being the case, Chinese shouldn't have been shortened either, just to be equal? (it seems tbb only did that to make it quicker to type)

Below is the Kanji for "abbreviation". Thought you might find it useful, Nagoyankee. (I am hoping you were joking...)

りゃく

The next Kanji means "bay" and is the second character in the word "Taiwan". I like it because of the high stroke count, along with the fact Taiwan is my second favorite foreign country next to Japan.
