50% correct. One of these is just as difficult as 受賞する for kids.

Hint: Think only of originally Japanese verbs. In other words, the kun-reading verbs.

It is saying that the speaker will not be able to make the deadline because there are so many things that he must study/examine/look into.

「だらけ」 is the key word here and I rarely see Japanese-learners use it. We use it VERY often. Its nuance is that there are "so many things" that you do not like/welcome.

「この文は知らない単語だらけで読めない。」

The 「で」 here means "with". "with so many things to look into"

So it was simpler than I thought. Thank you for the explanation. :) Actually I was confused since I didn't know exactly what he was referring to with 調べること and 間に合わない. It seems I need to examine the context again.

I thought I had asked a pretty good question but what the hell. It's so hard to get you guys interested on here.

The answer is とる and もらう.

Can you 受ける a prize, too?

Yeah, you can. The reason I did not include it was that I was asking what words kids would use.

Best word: 受賞する

Kids colloquial: とる&もらう

Older kids & adults colloquial: 受ける

Hello,
I need just some quick help with a line from a manga. The line is:
「りっちゃんの念で帯に引っかかってたのかもな。おそ るべし。」
(Prior to this line, the speaker had just found his girlfriend's 髪飾り(Which was given to her by her BFF, りっちゃん) that she was looking for in her 帯.)

I'm not sure I'm quite understanding it. What does 「念」 mean here? I don't suppose by any chance it's similar in meaning to 「念力」?

Any help is really appreciated! Thank you very much in advance :).

In this context, 念 means "a strong desire", "one's love for another". It is slightly different from 念力 in that 念力 always implies a psychic power.

Sorry, I have another question. (日本語で聞いてみます!)

「キャラ的に苦手」とはどういう意味でしょうか。もし かして「It's not in his/her character to [do that]」という意味でしょうか。

よろしくお願いします。
