I am a Cloud fan. I liked him since the game, but in the movie he was a little more... emo!

He's awesome at the start of FVII, the game that is.

I like Sephy. I mean who wouldn't like a tall man with like a 6 foot sword, who wants to kill everything? Cloud just gets more and more emo after the weapons attack in FFVII (sqeaking wheelchair...), and increases during AC.

i hate cloud on KH: chain of memories. lolz.

Guess I'll have to pick Cloud -- if only just to counter-balance all the Sephiroth-love going on here. ;)

I love 'em both, but two things immediately come to mind:

1) Cloud is Vincent's best friend -- and Vincent takes the cake in my humble opinion.

2) Sephiroth is Hojo's son -- that is a negative that goes without further elaboration.

no, Vincent is Seph's dad. Lucretcia and Vincent had Seph and Hojo injected her with Jenova cells....no one would ever mate with that disturbing man(hojo)

I definetly agree with you on your assessment of Hojo. However, I have to disagree with your interpretation of events. Their back-story is told by Vincent, with an accompanying flash-back sequence, when he finds Lucrecia again in her cave behind the waterfall in FFVII. (The story is told again in Dirge of Cerberus.)

Vincent was in love with Lucrecia -- no question about that. The waterfall cave sequence in VII implies that she loved him in return [part of the scene showing them walking through Nibelheim holding hands], and in Dirge of Cerberus that is shown to be a fact. However, Lucrecia turns away from Vincent to embrace Hojo both figuratively and literally [she pulls her hands away from Vincent's and runs off. The next scene shows her embracing Hojo; Vincent, in the fore-ground, hangs his head in despair.] Vincent narrates: "If she is happy then, I don't mind."

Why did she choose Hojo? It's never really clear (and, like you said, he's disturbing). At one point in FFVII, Vincent suggests that she may have felt she could protect Hojo from himself.

You're not the only going "Why did she go with him?! Vincent is so much better!" (I yelled at my TV :p )but if she didn't go with Hojo, then we wouldn't have the kickass Vincent we have today ;). So I guess it's a good thing she went with Hojo... I think... well, no. But still.

yes she went with hojo, but she was already pregnant at that time...and he just used her baby as an experiment

Pretty interesting thread....
Seph is quite cool but overconfident.... that was why cloud beat him.

Cloud is determined but has a depressed lifestyle....and many dont find that attitude interesting except maybe Kadaj.

Seph sharacter is similar to Orochimaru's whom is my favorite villian.

Sephiroth. Sure Cloud is cool in his own way, but the "my life sucks...Sephiroth destroyed my town...I'm still want to bang a dead chick that Sephiroth killed..." attidude gets on my nerves.
