I'm so glad he didnt' know
when he gazed at the glowing glass
his hands gripping snacks like treasure
his small, curious hands...

The latest breaking, lulling speech
from the speaker, spouting riddled words
his unlearned ears cannot translate
for now, anyway.

Window suddenly becomes hideous, unfit,
Common keyhole of corrupt, sick,
But like a blessed shield, he blinks
away the nonsense there.

I just switch it off, and walk to him
his blank stare is now a knowing smile
he sais to me his lovely, wordless,
tones of warmth and fearless ignorance.

This is the time, a golden time
this first gift of 'peace of mind' where
he doesn't understand this world
he's come into just yet.

We are one in the same.
Much like twins
but not born of the same mother.
Friends forever.

but here we are twins,
we have finally found each other,
