Genres you avoid?

I usually avoid Shonens. I just can't stand them, they're totally childish and nonsense in my opinion, anyways there're always exceptions.

I don't like Mecha, or anime/manga with stupid humor like bobobo.
Because it just doesn't make any sense ! u__u

Yaoi, Yuri & ones with lots of fighting.
They are just not my cup of tea, I guess. : D

I'm not a fan of HEAVY shounen where it's like "Hey, I don't know you, let's fight!" and things of the sort. Pointless violence, I guess, though I do like my fair share of violent/gorey anime.
Pointless anime bugs me, too. I like a very nice plot and it just annoys me when it's so... Shallow? And overly romantic. I like romance in my anime, but when it's just cheesy, no thank you. Mecha isn't my cup of tea, but ones like Evangelion I do like.

I don't like anime that's too stupid with too much pointless humour getting in the way of the story (if there even is one). And I also don't like "fan service" ie. pointless boob/panty flashing, what's the point? It's distracting from the story and the characters and it makes me annoyed. >
For me, there has to be a good story, decent character development, etc. And if it's condensed into around 20-30 action-packed episodes that's perfect. I can't stand stuff that drags on with loads of stupid filler episodes.
Basically the anime I really like is something along the lines of Vision of Escaflowne (my favourite anime of all time, it's just stunning)
I will watch most genres as long as they don't have the above things in them.

I stay away from most animes period. They're just to predictable and clique for my taste. I lean towards anime that is scary or surreal, like paranoia agent.

I avoid... things like, too shoujo - y ..... I hate when the girl is always like "OH BOBBY!!! DON'T SAY THAT I LOVE YOU!!!" I mean, I like drama, and things... but... I like things that make me cry, make me go WHY?! not 'you stupid mother---' things that inspires me, not short, but not to loong...

I tend to avoid more of the ero-ero type stuff, I dont like panty shots and things like that. I mean I have the internet, I dont need that crap in my animation.

Also, Naruto and Bleach stuff. Those stuff are cool, but it's so long that the novelty wears off after awhile and I get seriously bored and end up waiting for it to be over.

also. This is my opinion on fansub groups. I tend to not watch people who dont translate things that could easily be translated but they want it to "sound" cool.

Like they won't translate "Oniichan" or "Mou" even animal names or attack names. Those things really tick me the wrong way, and the fact that most do this, one group in particular TV-Nihon never translate the word "HENSHIN" which could easily translate to "Transform" or "Change!" depends on what they wanted. But they don't and I see a bunch of slittle groups forming off of them, not KNOWING what "HENSHIN" means so they dont translate it either.

Another problem is most groups like TV-NIHON are very arrogant and dont really listen to other people's opinion if it differs from their and just ban you and call you a troll...

I tend to not really watch magical girl series, yaoi, yuri. Other than that I tend to be pretty open minded. I guess I should add I don't normally end up watching most ????+ a billion episode series. I just don't normally find myself being able to get into them. Sorry if that offends anyone.
