That's a huge stereotype and an assumption. Look at Arthur Ashe. Great athlete, tennis player, very active, and very athletic. He died from a heart attack if I recall correctly. He was a nice normal size, he ended up with a problem associated with overweight people.

There are overweight people who are healthy, who are just that, overweight. My aunt in New York has been overweight her entire life (her siblings are slim, though). She has no health problems what-so-ever. She's always walked to the stores and such, because she and her husband didn't invest in a car until a couple of years ago since they started taking road trips with their kids. They also didn't have any reason to drive because everything is in walking distance.

Not necessarily. My friend is overweight, his brother isn't, and his parents aren't. Explain that one.

Well yeah, but overweight usually presents a higher possibility to get health problems, as do underweight.

I think that is a silly thing to say.
If the parents aren't genetically big (i.e fat babies/children etc) then their child has every chance of being slim. Although parents eating habbits may be copied by children, they don't inherit them and will make their own choices.

Men who support girls being too thin and becoming this way through an eating disorder make me so mad. There are even porn type sites on the internet, for people with fetishes for REALLY, really thin girls- you can see their bones poking out of everywhere. I don't understand this?

That's disgusting... no guys want girls to be that thin. Just don't be fat... try too keep your lines, but don't get yourself dyin for food.

Japan likes thin huh... here in Europe guys are supposed to have strong bodies... or even in USA. Thin guys aren't the best imo, compare to strong bodies not.

basically x]
stereotypes have too come from somewhere >.>
and for me, it's sort of a screening process
besides from being unsightly, overweight/plus-sized woman DO have a tendency too have some sort of problem. this speaks the same for anorexic woman. anyway, their physical appearance is what i observe first. second is personality, and then third is a final check up of all potential hazards/ defects. >.>'''

but all that is just technical. ultimately, it comes down too whether or not i'll fall in love w/ her >.>
and that's not something i have much control over

lol. well, us japanese people (well in my perspective) are so thin cuz we wanna look nice. Like most of the clothes now in japan are mostly made for thin people. It's hard to keep this figure. And, another reason is because some girls just want to look like their favorite idol. That's kinda crazi. and plus, i'm trying to worry about my health instead of worrying if i'm fat... i'm not fat at all...

eating disorders or diets are really in common.

what do you think about it?

or do you have other informations?
Believe me if you live in Japan for about 2 weeks or longer you'll probably be thinner.
I lost like 10 pounds in 10 days.
The food has next to no fat, the portions are smaller and its fucking oishii!
Also I walked so much with the group and on my own.
