As I recall, I only went to McDonalds once or twice in my 2 years there, just to see if it was the same as the American one. The portions were smaller, but the taste was the same. I also visited Mos Burger once, Wendys a few times, and KFC about a dozen times (I liked their extra spicy chicken, which they don't have in the US). But the vast majority of the time, I had more local cuisine... ramen, donburi, kara'age, tonkatsu, various Chinese food, etc.

I wouldn't bother going to McDonald's in Japan if I were there because I'd want to feast on their more speciality foods and delicacies rather than the commercial ones which can be found anywhere you go :P

There are localized food in McDs at different country, so just take it as a experience for "local fast food"

When I went to Japan, due to the fact that I was 4 other guys who disliked Japanese food and who were... well. typically English, we went into McD and KFC alot for them.

If I was alone, I could've not seen McD at all and had lived.

Where else can you have the Tsukimi burger, or the Mega Mac? Only at McDonald's in Japan. The menu changes according to the season, so there is often more variety than you'll find at American McDonald's restaurants.

I'm waiting for the choco-pie to return to the menu, it should be any day now...

I probably would. I'm not that big on McDonalds, but it would be interesting to see it in a different country and see how it differs from the ones that I've seen in Canada.

When do you think people die?

When they are shot through the heart by the bullet of a pistol?
No.

When they are ravaged by an incurable disease?
No.

When they drink a soup made from a poisonous mushroom?
No!

It's when... they are forgotten.
